Latest Dr Who - it was good. But, even without reading Neil Gaiman's blog it's obvious it suffered a lot of snipping. Left me with the feeling of - well in Cantonese we call it "it reached the throat but not the stomach". Not quite there. Not sure why everybody's saying it's the most amazing thing EVAR, beautiful plot and all that stuff. I mean, being in/falling in love with an object that's personified? I've read fanfics of that, and have written them myself. It wasn't anything new and it wasn't executed in a new way either. Character-wise they could've explored it so much more but there wasn't enough time. This could've made an excellent double-episode.

Still, I enjoyed it. It was far better than the episode before.

Thor - watched that yesterday. It was fabulous. Cute and amusing and fun. Nothing against Natalie Portman but I'm glad she didn't take up too much screen time, because the film wasn't about her. Wasn't about Earth, even. The director didn't go "well we paid a lot of money for this pretty Oscar-winning actress so let's not cut too many of her scenes out". Good call. The fight with the giant on Earth was just the right length, again, not too gratuitous, not dragged out like your average Hollywood film would've done. Enough to be exciting, not boring.

Pirates of the Caribbean - watched the trailer when we went to see Thor... definitely do not want to see this in 3D. I never bought into the whole 3D thing anyway and only watched it when that was the only choice at the cinema. The trailer in 3D looked so blurry and messy I could hardly focus! I hope my cinema will show it in 2D.

Latest Game of Thrones - too much gratuitous blood and sex. Did I need so many seconds of the Imp destroying a man's face, or Theon Greyjoy banging a girl?

Other than that, I'm enjoying GoT a lot. Tyrion~ ♥ The latest episode feels more coherent because it's not switching over to the Wall or across the narrow sea once in a while. But I guess that was necessary before to establish the background and such.

X-Japan - got tickets, thanks to my sister's O2 priority account. It sold out so fast. O2 later upgraded their venue from Islington to Shepherd's Bush Empire and released more tickets but that sold out as well. XD This will be in June.

Divine Comedy - know nothing about them, but [livejournal.com profile] storme likes them so I bought tickets to their performance in Greenwich in July.

Within Temptation - got their latest CD - it's sitting in my disc drive waiting to be played for the first time - and just got tickets to their London gig in November. Had to buy it for twice the face value on eBay. I could've got tickets to the Birmingham or Manchester gigs instead, but with the travel etc I would've paid more than what I've paid for London anyway.

Final Fantasy Distant Worlds - have I mentioned this? FF Distant Worlds orchestral concert at Royal Albert Hall in November. Got very good tickets because I camped at the computer on the day of release.

...I go to a concert around once in four years and suddenly I go to four!
