Me: I'd like three £40 tickets please.

Ticketmaster: Nope, not available.

Me: (...D: Maybe there aren't three seats together?) Then I'd like two £40 tickets please.

Ticketmaster: Sure. Here you go.

Me: And now I'd like a single £40 ticket please. Even though that means people won't get to sit together.

Ticketmaster: Nope, not available.

Me: (Oh, maybe I just bought the last two? But maybe...) How about another TWO £40 tickets?

Ticketmaster: Sure! :D Here, these two are right next to the two you just bought!

Me: But how about a single £40 one?

Ticketmaster: I cannot let you do that, Dave.

Me: ARSEHOLE!

(I ended up having to tell Homan about this. He says he'll try to get the ticket himself later.)

Huh, that's weird. Maybe it doesn't like odd numbers?

If you want to get 2 together, you could get me one and I'll send you the dosh by whatever means! I *was* planning to drop by the CIA and buy a ticket at the box office, but for various reasons (see below!) haven't got around to it.

Re travel/overnight stuff. It is notoriously difficult to get out of Cardiff after 8.30pm (ask any English football fan!) and the CIA is currently adjacent to a massive building site which is not conducive to safe access to the city centre late at night (or indeed anything else). However, it is right across the road from a Jurys hotel and there's a Big Sleep just down the road which I think is cheaper.

Have forgotten the date of the event so am wondering how much cleaning up I could do in order to be polite and offer you a futon here! Keigo would love to have breakfast in bed with Tez_plush again and Dora will dribble on you for free but you might well prefer the hotel as I've just had flooding through my bedroom ceiling (long story, related to roof repairs) and the place is 1. smelly 2. chaotic.

Oh, excellent! I'll poke Homan about it then, and hopefully get two tickets that way! [edit] Got the tickets! *is efficient 8D*

Thanks very much for the offer. ♥ I'll be travelling with [livejournal.com profile] storme, so I'd prefer if we could stay together. It'll probably mean hotel! *pokes at websites* The event is on 3rd Dec (Thursday).

Cool. If not, I'll try reverting to plan A.

I'm reminded that Jury's is now Park Inn! There are hotels on/around St Mary's and Westgate streets which are convenient for the CIA and central station but in the middle of the drinking zone. Might be worth looking at the Holiday Inn and the Angel (http://www.barcelo-hotels.co.uk/hotels/wales/barcelo-cardiff-angel-hotel/) which are opposite the castle and about 15 minutes walk from the CIA through the city centre.

You'll be happy to hear that 3 December is the week *after* Wales v Australia!

Oh no wonder I couldn't find it! Thanks, drinking zone = avoid like plague, but I'll check out those other places!

...lucky! XD

There's also the Village hotel in North Cardiff which does affordable twin rooms, and I can confirm is accessible from the centre because it's just up the road from my flat and I travel here daily! Half my neighbours are members of the health club. Also v handy for Asda, and a really nice walk around the Glamorgan Canal which you won't have time for!

It could also very well be that I sleepwalk and threaten people with knives, so they're too scared to say anything. >D

Possibly from a safe distance.
