My self-photography is crap

pezand that's because I don't use MySpace, so I didn't get enough practice. :P Once I get a mannequin the internet won't have to suffer my horrible photos.
- there will be new gloves which will be of the correct length. I don't know where to find them, but there will be proper gloves. Still with black straps on.
- the shirt is the only sleeveless shirt I currently have. I won't be wearing this one.
- can't even find a suitable waistcoat to wear just to see how the layers work. XD
- with normal David I got away with not binding. This one I'll definitely need to bind.
The sides actually do match and the whole thing is symmetrical, much to my relief! /o/ But I didn't hang it up well so it looks wonky here.
So, when I put it on, I sort of look like this:

When I first thought about making my own tailcoat, I looked around the internet and found forum people telling Sebastian cosplayers they should never attempt to make their own tailcoat because they are OMG SO HARD AND I'VE BEEN SEWING FOR TWENTY YEARS AND I WOULDN'T MAKE ONE LIEKOMG.
So, okay, I know mine isn't a masterpiece, but I got a pattern, altered the front, the tails as well as the collar. Used a shiny material for the lower half of the collar too, which was a bitch to do because it has to join very nicely with the top half. Then I stiffened it with fusible interfacing. I started on Sunday. Didn't work on it during the day (not even today), just when I'm not at work. And I don't think I've done badly. With the right buttons and such, I think my tailcoat will look all right. It didn't even take me half a week and it wasn't anywhere near impossible.
So, whoever it was who said she'd been sewing for twenty years and still wouldn't do this? I hate to be mean, but maybe you just suck. Seriously, don't go around discouraging other people, acknowledge your own suckage instead!
Phew, I feel better after saying that.
Hmmmm, so what colour buttons to go on this? Gold, silver, white, antique-y... so many choices.
Hoping to find white trousers that will go fine with the white material of the tailcoat, then I won't have to make my own.
And a coat to go on top of everything because otherwise I'll freeze outside. Maybe something from the wardrobe, or a manly coat from charity/vintage shop! Don't think manliness often come in my size, though. =/
Dammit I want to sleep why can't I sleep. I should like, go write some porn. That always makes me sleepy.
