Spent a while not knowing exactly what I'm writing, but the Athlum bartender came to the rescue and filled the fic with gorgeous sparklyness. I think poor Jager is a bit creeped out, though.

It turns out that in the PC TLR game folder, only the intro, the opening, Gwayn's destruction of Nagapur, and the ending (when Journey's End starts to play) are available as movies. Everything else, even the epic Emma scene and the scenes just before Journey's End, are not .bik files but UE's own undecipherable file format! (Oh, the credits were .bik, but who cares?) I mean, I did realise most of the cutscenes are just ingame-quality scenes and not fully rendered, but I'd have thought I could at least find Emma's fight and the penultimate scenes there. T_T And the sound's all funny because they store the audio somewhere else. Curse you, Unreal.

Still, it does mean better opportunities for screencaps. And yo, [livejournal.com profile] t0k0 and [livejournal.com profile] dualdragonfly, if you guys want them for vidding, let me know. They're 1280x780, I've compressed them as .avi at quite high res but can make them even higher.

I'm wanting to listen to some really dark (and maybe creepy, but not necessarily) music. But I don't have any. :(

btw, is there anyone willing to cast a critical eye over the first chapter of [Side B]? I have a feeling it's not very consistent in style...

You can get the local currency from the ATMs here, too, if you end up missing the exchange. :)

Hi. Sent home from work again. Gah. Last two weeks = fail. DX

Define 'dark'. I almost certainly DO have some but uhm. I don't know if you'd like it. *laughs*

:(

I dunno, really. I think I fancy something with awesome female vocals and a strong bass...

Nightwish? Epica? Or less operatic?

I'm completely uninformed about the world of music and bands etc, so I don't know who you're talking about, but operatic sounds good?

I can certainly fork over some of that stuff tonight. I have a fair bit of operatic metal with big-lunged woman singers. :)

Unni's suggestions are probably good. *considers* Darling Violetta, The Birthday Massacre... a lot of the stuff I have hits one but not the other. I do have quite a bit of female-vocal stuff that I can point you at on the external HD though.

Athlum Bartender!!!!!!!! Yes! I demand that he be given a flamboyant name.

:O Videos at that resolution make me drool. I would forever worship you if you could provide me with those :D

I wouldn't be a good beta reader. :P I'd be very bias and love it regardless.

atm I have him named George, but he prefers people to call him Georgina... XD;;; (I need to make icons of him.)

Okay, I'll start uploading when I get home!

XDDDD

I agree with everything T0K0 said. But when coming to decide upon a flamboyant name... It's not very simple... Course, when I think of flamboyant, I always think of Sherry from the sitcom Frasier.

If you could provide me with clips like that, I wouldn't know how to say thank you. How about a video!? Rush and David! I don't know how else to show my gratitude...

I wouldn't be a good beta reader. I can't even read my own stories without missing a lot of typos. Plus, I'm very much like T0K0 in that too. XD

I'm trying to come up with names that are either useable by both genders or easily changed into a different gender, therefore the George/Georgina. In any case, he's very camp. XD

:D What I'll do is upload one thing first, see what you guys think about the quality, then I'll upload the rest either at the same compression or at a better compression. I think right now it's like... a 2 to 3 minutes of video is about 120MB in size or something like that...

I just laughed out loud when I read that. Very camp. Haha! *claps*

Blimey, that's big... Still, that's a good idea.

Camp is a lovely word. >D

Try this for quality:
http://www.mediafire.com/?dzzxeomtmgm

It's 91MB, 2.5 minutes of video. If you don't need the sound I can just not include it which I suppose will make the files a bit smaller.

It's a video of Gwayn destroying Nagapur. 8D

Dark, creepy and with strong female vocals... I recommend My Ruin. Miss B got scary lungs. O__O

Not so creepy but with rather dark and powerful female vocals is The Distillers as well, if you're feeling more punk then metal.

Totally out of context I guess but always creepy to me and pretty dark, Curse (Blestem) by Maria Tanase.

Hope this helpu a bit, I go back to my evil scheming now. *crawls back under her rock*

Like I said in the post, I only managed to get four videos out of the installation folders, so it's not really that much. I just set the comp to upload and run away to do something else on a different computer... XD

Mmmm, I need to find out more about these people and bands. I know NOTHING about the genre at all. *is the type of person who just listens to something somebody else listens to and say, "hey, that's quite nice."*

Thank you!

lol

If you have the time, I would appreciate it very much. *smiles*

PS: About the music, I'd recommend The Birthday Massacre, Stone Sour, possibly Red...

and Lacuna Coil is pretty good too.

*grovles as feet*

This is amazing! Don't worry about any file sizes because this is well worth it. This is the perfect resolution for my computer :) 1280x780 is pure win

Thank you so much. I've already got plans in-store for this video.

I've watched it 4 times to marvel at the quality :)
