pez: (Last Remnant - HEEEY MACARENA!)

Imagine Torgal, Allan, Wyngale, Caedmon and Leucetius doing the macarena together. Oh, God.

I think I've solved the slowness problem on the comp (the XP, not the new one). AVG antivirus was doing weird things.

Last night I dreamed that I got burgled. Yup, definitely time to buy that home contents insurance.

Been making icons with all the screencaps I've been making of TLR PC. But now that I've changed TV, the newer screencaps are about 10^6 times better in quality, which probably means after this round I'll play it from the beginning AGAIN and make more caps. XD But actually, I haven't turned the game on for quite a few days. Mmmmm, dedness.

Tried Infinite Undiscovery last week. The voice acting I can put up with, but after months of turn-based, having to deal with things real time = FLAIL. I got to the point where the girl has to shoot the barrels to kill that big monster thing and kept dying there because I can't control anything to save my life. XD

And I'm suddenly struck with the desire to play FFVII since I still haven't tried it yet. It's just... how will that look on this TV, I wonder? ("Absolutely horrible" is the answer) And will I be able to deal with it? Some time ago I tried to replay FFX and it got annoying, partly because of graphics but mostly because of how tedious random-encounter and the old turn-based system are. TLR spoiled me. Why did I enjoy this game so much back then?

We will not talk about how much money I've spent on non-essentials last month + this month. For May and June I plan to stay home every weekend except for [livejournal.com profile] giving_ground's birthday. It isn't like I haven't got things to do. Even borrowed Warriors Orochi 2 from my brother-in-law (Sanada Yukimura yay!). And maybe I'll somehow get a cheap copy of Eternal Sonata. But perhaps I won't even need to do that, depending on how crap I am at IU. Maybe it'll take me a few months to finish. XDDDD

Oh, headache, why must you start the moment I step off the train?

For your Shiny New TVness, I suggest playing FFVII (or pretty much any older game) on your PS3 if you have one rather than PS2, as the PS3 handles the old-school graphics better and it won't look as funny in HD (so Steve tells me). Playing Tales of Destiny on his (32" widescreen HD) tv gave me headaches using his PS2 XD; But I guess considering my desktop monitor is bigger than the TV I usually play games on...

I don't have a PS3... got 1 and 2 though. I think the discs I have don't work on the PS1. Probably because the machine's old and on the verge of death. D:

My poor, poor PSX's are both on the verge of death... if I want to play FFVIII, I have to save before most of the FMV's and switch to the other one XD; (They both have Issues.)

You hate random encounters and old-style turn based combat? Oh boy, you're going to have *fun* with FFVII. :D

Meanwhile, playing TLR on the PC, I fairly often find myself just stopping to gawp at the *pretty* - flames, water, clouds, light, Dave. So much pretty!

I didn't use to! But now it seems so tedious. I much prefer visible enemies, at least.

YES. SAME HERE. Though, I'm not sure if it's just my graphics card settings, it seems like the xbox version rendered water more nicely. At least that seems to be the case at Vale of the Gods. But I'm just about to enter Fornstrand so can check there too.

Good luck with FFVII, seriously. I love the story and the game but it is all about the random encounters.

Huh, Vale of the Gods seems far prettier--outside battles, at least, but I don't recall that the running-through-water-splashes were ever that good anyway--on my PC. I actually made the SO come over to look at how lovely the light reflecting on the water was.

Eeeeep.

Huh. This calls for a comparison compare the meerkats, dot com! ♪. Should give that a go tonight and see which machine does better... and stare harder at pretty Dave...

No, no, you will come to love the random encounters! They make stats better.

I could be misremembering. It's been a while since I saw VoG on the xbox. Plus my TV has a lower resolution than my PC monitor.
