University Challenge
Mar. 2nd, 2009 08:40 pmI'm not a regular viewer but this girl is absolutely amazing and awes me with her geek-ness the few times I did watch. Amazing. Just amazing. *gravitates towards the intelligence!*
Unfortunately, I just learned that Corpus Christi got disqualified on technicality issues although they actually won the final. I suppose it doesn't matter because it's obvious how much more awesome they are. Not to put Manchester down, of course, it's just the truth.
(also lol, wtf.)
[edit] TLR stuff: just read in the uber guide that using arcana arts is no good for gaining items.
Say there are 5 enemy unions of 4 units each. Killing them all normally means you killed 20 units, a high chance of getting items.
If instead, you killed one union and then killed the rest with Megalore, then for the sake of items only the first union (ie 4 units) count, so less chance of getting items.
Damn, wish I realised this earlier!
[edit2] Now that the bidding's finished and the high bidder refused to pay, BBC News finally decided to report on the auction of the Chinese artifacts. BBC, I'm severely unimpressed.
