It snowed

So, I made it to work somehow, after having no lights at home, train delays and the attempts made by the slush to make me slip and fall and cause massive head injuries or at least a lot of pain. Some great start to the year! But it was quite funny to see everyone walking extremely cautiously on their way to work.

There was a really emo David/Rush scene in the game last night. Even more slashy than that time when Rush was about to get creamed by The Conqueror and David looking on helplessly and calling Rush's name. XD Previously it was a lot about David liking Rush, even though he totally had an Ulterior Motive for befriending him initially. Now I think Rush is starting to reciprocate although David is Far Too Busy at the moment to think about it. Starting to wonder about the secret they've been hinting at... maybe it's about Rush, not David! That would make more sense.

Having failed to write for Phoenix Wright, I wonder if I'll be producing stuff for The Last Remnant instead. Mmmm. Should ditch sidequesting and finish the storyline since I've already missed some quests anyway and won't be able to complete that achievement. Then I can play again, get all completionistic and say it's only research for fic writing... maybe I'll get Rush to be a mage next time...

Haven't got much of a writing goal this year, although in general I'd like more D1, more SanaYana, plus some David/Rush and Edgeworth/Wright if possible. I was ~14k short of last year's word count goal but that's all right; I think the sort of stories I produced made up for it (I like my own writing, sue me). So this year it's more to do with different genres (which I also achieved last year!) and scale (I prefer "larger" stories over little-ones-in-which-nothing-actually-happens) than word count.

And I'll try to read at least a book a month. Would be a doddle if I could get Chinese books but seeing how slow I read English, this might be a challenge. For example, I've read Murakami in both Chinese and English. Chinese versions take me, oh, three days at the slowest. English... many many more days. Wonder why that is, since it's not like I don't understand the words or have to stop to interpret what they mean.

The above plans depend on companies like Square Enix not bringing out more epic RPGs which eat away my time like nothing else.

Why does it seem like that half of my active friends list is suddenly into Merlin? The series has been running for a while but it looks like lots of people suddenly just discovered it. O_o

Three hours into work, fourth cup of tea. Looks like I'm the only one feeling cold, though.

I only know Merling from fandomsecrets.. :D"
Wonder if anyone in Germany would pic it up. Or maybe it's already running and I don't know. We even had Dr. Who here and there was no single advertisement or commercial for it, I caught it by chance.

I need a nextgern console :\ TLR sounds and looks interesting.

Yeah, maybe it started airing in other countries so everybody suddenly noticed it. That's rubbish, them not advertising the shows...

It is. ;;

Maybe you skim read more in Chinese than English?

Have just ventured outside for the first time in days, and this white stuff randomly fell on me.

Probably! Sometimes I wonder if Chinese (and Japanese) are more "expressive". If you compare a book in Chinese and the same book translated into English, the English version is always a lot thicker. Similarly, I've seen the Japanese version of The Da Vinci Code, and it's small enough to fit into the backpocket of my jeans. Maybe with some Asian languages, we're able to express more with less words...

Hahaha, same here. Have stayed at home for a few days and then, first day of work, looked out the window and got a shock!

Conversely, if you compare a Welsh and English version, the Welsh will be longer!

There was a dreadful clanking noise here for an hour this morning. When I eventually went out to investigage, turned out it was the neighbours' boiler dying. Couldn't cope with the cold, probably.

Why does the snow keep missing me? /sadface/ (and you have the perfect icon for it!)

I am cold, though. I've been downing coffee all day ^_^

XD;;; I'm not much of a fan of snow myself, unless it's in suburbs or rural areas. Having to walk or drive in the snow is so dangerous and icky.

It's freezing today! Apparently it'll be worse tonight. =/

XD Okay, your David/Rush post makes more sense now that I've read this..

Because Merlin is awesome! IDK, I think a few of the more popular authors just wrote fic for it?
