I forgot to turn the gas heater off when I left home earlier. When I got back, the fire was off BUT THE GAS WAS STILL ON.

I COULD HAVE CAUSED AN EXPLOSION. SERIOUSLY. LIZ AND I COULD HAVE LOST ALL OUR POSSESSIONS AND BECOME HOMELESS TODAY. COULD HAVE KILLED OUR NEIGHBOURS. BECAUSE I FORGOT ABOUT THE HEATING.

OH. MY. GOD.

Tezmobile seems alright though.

Sure, the smell wasn't that strong so maybe the fire only went out not too long ago, but that isn't the point. The point is I FORGOT TO TURN THE GAS HEATER OFF.

In other news, got registered at the GP, but they said the earliest I can phone in to book an appointment is Monday. Went to have lunch with Liz, got food, came home. Glad that home is still there and Tezmobile hasn't been gassed to death. DDDDDDDX

Shiiiit, glad you're alright! <3

I had a similar thing happen to me when my nan wanted to make coffee and she turned the gas up on the stove but didn't ignite it and the gas filled the house.

These things are so scary @.@

Thanks. ;;

I wonder why the fire went out though... it should've just stayed burning, really. Now I don't dare to try to turn it back on again. >>

Maybe Tezmobile is smarter than you think ;DDDD

If the room doesn't smell of gas then you'll be alright :) If not call British Gas or someone to check it out, as long as you're safe that's all that matters <3

Don't forget to turn the gass off Pez!!!

I turn the gas boiler off completely when I'm not in the house. Dora has to do without central heating and hot water until I get home!

I need to double check yours is the most recent. Ore-sama is nagging me because he's afraid Tez_plush will think he is cheap!

>< I forgot the oven on overnight.
My housemate and I were pretty sure that I turned it off, yet somehow it was on when we got up in the morning. D:

It's a good thing nothing happened and everyone's safe.

Ack...

Many years ago a friend of my dad died from carbon monoxide poisoning because he left the oven on! Be really careful!

Thanks. :)

Man, that's scary.
And well, this heating thing seems like serious business.
We don't have that sort of thing. We freeze to death!! or use the electric ones that are as dangerous too.
But yes, we do leave the stove keys with the gas running and the water bolier too. People die with that sort of thing. >.>;;

Who leaves the house first? You can do a double-check thing, just in case.

This is the first time I actually have a gas heater! Before moving to this house, I'd only ever used electric ones.

D: D:!! GAS THINGS CONFUSE AND BEWILDER ME. A-as long as there was no spark though, would it still exploade?

Date: 2008-12-14 04:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com
It shouldn't if there isn't a spark, but the spark can be very tiny... like how they have notices for people to switch off mobile phones at gas stations because there have been cases where the phone rings and apparently there is a tiny tiny spark and it causes an explosion at the gas station...
