Everybody else prefer to have Obama, except the Americans?

Been rereading Count Cain and, to my horror, I only have up to volume 12. Must have left the rest in HK. T_T

The estate agent for my previous flat is pissing me off. I'm writing to their head office. If they don't respond in a good way I'm gonna get my workplace's employee assitance programme for legal support.

Americans don't tend to leave 'home' much. I see many complaints from US citizens that the world is anti-US but little understanding of why this might be. At least, being English, we *know* why everyone hates us.

Anyway. I do think McCain and Palin could win this. I have mixed feelings about whether this will be terrible news for the planet or the best way to finally marginalise the US. As I rather have the impression that Russia and China are poised to take over world economic domination as we speak, it might even be argued that the US is about to finally lose the Cold War!

As someone in the US, I'm frankly terrified at the idea of a McCain/Palin presidency. But I also increasingly think its not going to happen. Fox News articles aside (and one should never take anything at Fox at face value, since their conservative bent is explicit), the fact of the matter is that since the convention, the McCain campaign has got nothing but bad press. His choice of running mate has backfired majorly - the woman cannot interview, has no knowledge of the issues, and depends entirely on folksy sayings. The polls for him and Palin have plummeted, and most Americans blame the Republican party not only for the war in Iraq but for the mess the economy is in. I'm cautiously optimistic that Obama will win next month. But only cautiously - obviously the shit could still hit the fan.

The most recent polls show that Obama has more electoral votes~ Fox News just likes to think that McCain is "edging out" Obama when in fact a lot of old GOP strongholds are going purple and maybe even blue next month. :D

I wouldn't vote for McCain/Palin simply on the standards of McCain looks like a skeezy, smug old bastard who'd die in office anyway, leaving us with the incredibly stupid douchebag as president. I'm certainly not against having a woman in office, but I don't want a goddamn idiot who doesn't even have any idea of what her job would *be*.

But then again I'm not registered to vote so I suppose I don't have a say in it. XD
