When the back is hurting

The last thing I needed was having to crouch down and twist open an incredibly tight filter (tools were used, arms now hurt) knowing that once opened, the kitchen was going to be flooded but I could not just leave the clothes in a washing machine that wasn't draining, and I couldn't get to the hose at the back to let it drain from there into a container first.
The filter didn't seem clogged.
An hour later, soggy clothes are dumped in the bath tub, there are several wet towels on the floor, I'm a bit wet and the machine is running a rapid cycle with nothing inside, to test whether it's going to drain properly now.
[edit] Nope, not draining. So now I have some half washed clothes, a load of dirty towels and a broken machine. Guess some phonecalls will need to be made.
I don't even know if there's a laundrette in the area. Never noticed one.
