My back hurts. Have been putting off taking painkillers yesterday but I think it's pretty unavoidable today.

Going to try out Photoshop CS3 "portable edition" on the laptop to see how it works with Vista. It'll be my first encounter with CS; there was Illustrator CS on my comp, but I think I uninstalled it. Besides, the first CS had major problems dealing with PSD files created from previous Photoshop versions (or so my sister told me), so I never thought about trying it. But if it's no good I'll put GIMP on the machine.

More HD DVD vs Blu Ray news. Buying a PS3 is becoming more and more justifiable.

Strict drug laws mean you could be arrested at UAE for crimes you didn't know you were committing. This is very, very scary stuff.

Does anyone get the impression that nowadays, if you privatise something you get shot for it, and if you nationalise something you still get shot for it?

Need to check if there are resources out there that help scanlaters with translating background sound effects.

Mine's lower back too. The muscles seize up sometimes for a variety of reasons (including: crappy chair at my old job, running too fast down the subway stairs, and overdoing it at the gym this weekend).
