Vodafone offered to lower my contract to £10/month or give me a Sony K770i for free and contract of £15/month. I think I'm on £17/month at the moment, with tax that's £20-ish.

I was going to switch to THREE, get a LG Viewty on cheapest line rental + unlimited internet package for £32/month...

...................Viewty is SO MUCH shinier, but..... Vodafone doesn't have LG phones. But their network is very good for roaming... although their mobile internet packages are crap crap crap. And they don't cooperate with Skype. Skype on my mobile with THREE. So Bloody Cool. I can call any of you guys at any time, and of course call home too. For really bloody cheap.

Really need a new phone. This one keeps switching itself off.

Told them to call me back because I'm at work. Hate it when they do things like that. =/

I have an LG Shi-ne and I have had nothing but bother with it, actually I've had three, the screen has gone on two
I had very similar problems with the chocolate too, the first one the screen popped out, so they replaced it and that one shocked me, which is when i got the shi-ne (I know it's shine but use one for a while)
i agree the LG phones look shiny but they're not really designed for use.
I wouldn't just go to three because they have LG phones because you can always get one outside the contract and they're just not sturdy enough to live in a bag and actually be used once in a while
unless you want your screen to go all supernatural with moving shining lights and the complete inability to read texts....

Actually LG Chocolate is notorious for its screen problems ever since it came out in 2006 (?) But LG phones in general are known to be nice and sturdy.

Sorry if you know all the following, but I've had this sort of thing drilled into me, my dad works in telecommunications so he knows so much since it's his passion haha, but:

I would be careful with THREE - I had a contact with them a couple of years back but (in Preston) there was absolutely no signal coverage. They offer good deals but you cannot use them because the service/signal is so bad.

Recently they have been reducing their existing customers contacts to £5 trying to keep them because so many people threatened to leave. HOWEVER, you might be in one of the (verrry few XD) areas with signal so it might work in your favour!! Just be careful and good luck! :D

As a PS I didn't realise someone just advised against the LG! Oh dear, that must be the worst thing to hear; "don't go with 3, don't go with LG, but aside from that go for it." Sorry! Seriously, I am sure they have improved since my time dealing with them.

Hahaha I've heard about that! But in London I don't think I'll have much of a problem with coverage. A couple of friends here have contracts with Three. Also in the last year or two they've extended their coverage a lot.

I'm glad to hear it! :) I hope it works out.

Actually for me, I've been having phone troubles - I got one of the new Sony Ericssons (K850i) and it randomly stopped working. I was told it was rushed through testing, so I am extra worried about friends getting phones haha sorry!
