Those who commented on [Acceleration] said they enjoyed it, but I wonder how many other people tried and didn't get past the first 700-or-so words... or even just read the first few paragraphs and assumed it's a Second Person POV fic and clicked away. =/ Bah. Then again, that's how I wanted it to start, so...

I can't believe I'm talking with vicky_guu_sama on chat about the state of the HK media...

I did that on one story I posted as a kind of random experiment, though I don't do it routinely (just don't care that much)... it was kind of interesting. I mean, 600 or so unique hits to 20 comments. (But then I started wondering SO DID ALL THOSE PEOPLE THINK IT SUCKED OR WERE THEY JUST LAZY OR-- and that way madness lies so I stopped. :D )

Naw, 600:20 is fairly standard. Anywhere between 5-10% commenting is typical.

Some counters allow you to check how long specific IPs were on the site. So then you can judge, approximately, if they read or not based on the length of time they were recorded there....

Is it working well for you? Because LJ doesn't allow javascript so the HTML counter is the one I'm playing with and it doesn't give visit durations. =/

I don't remember if it was exactly that, but yeah, about that ratio... I mean, it's a freak occurrence if I get more than 20 comments for anything anyway, but yeah. It was the one SanaYuki story I wrote.

Yeah same here. 30 at best, and that's like my Rikkai Exchange entry where people were commenting especially enthusiastically! We all say we write because we like writing, but it'd be nice to hear that people liked reading, too...

I read most of Acceleration, but I stopped when there was sex (I forgot to check the rating of the fic D:) and didn't comment because I didn't finish the fic D: The part I read was amazing though!
