I've been missing a few Heroes episodes, but watched two in a row last night and it's gotten to the point where Something happens to Simone. I still want to have to whole show together, without the BBC cutting. Meh. But I'm not as into it as so many people are, I don't think it's the Best Thing Ever Happened to TV. I don't even think it's Amazing. But it's Pretty Good. The plot in particular. Not sure about half of the special effects - they make it sound "omg we're so amazinggggg!" in "Heroes Unmasked" but all I think is "So what?" Nikki's bit is pretty uninteresting to me, though I suppose other people feel differently.


There are around 4 more chapters of Genius Konomi can play with. The spoilers for this week just showed that Fuji vs Niou STILL is not done, so even if it's over next week, Fuji wins (he has to, otherwise Rikkai gets 3 wins and becomes champion anyway) and D1 begins, there are only 3 Geniuses left. That's 3 chapters to cover Seigaku getting 2 more victories plus wrapping up of entire story. Okay, so Konomi has pulled really shitty tricks in D2, but even if he does it again for D1 and S1... can he really fit that much in? Even if he gets double or even triple length for the last chapter? So I'm guessing Rikkai will win, and then maybe there'll be a NEW PoT. Everyone gets a year older or something. And then it turns into good old Captain Tsubasa. XDDDDD

Because, seriously. We were all WTF-ing when they said "13 episodes of Nationals!" and then we find out it's "13 episodes up to semi-finals, and then 13 more for the rest!", something along those lines. And "5 Tenimyu Supporter's DVD!" but we know there must be "Series 2 of Tenimyu Support's DVD!" because we haven't seen any for Rokkaku or Rikkai yet, and they'll want to put in Higa and whatever schools come next, to squeeze the money out of us.

Or it could just be that Konomi realised there's more support for Rikkai than Seigaku, and therefore Rikkai is going to win and then it's The End.

I do think I am going to get a proper chair. Now it's just where to find one...

I know what you mean about Heroes! My little sister is addicted to the show (She is 13 XD) but I do not think it is worth the hype.

I really enjoyed Heroes, as a whole, but asides Hiro, there wasn't any character that I was incredibly attached to.

Still, I'm watching the second season and I'm quite enjoying it.

I had the same problem with heroes, my brother was dling it as it came out in the states and I could not get into it at all,
then I sat one day feeling sorry for myself and sewing and watched something like the first 15 eps back to back and I was hooked
it takes a long time to get going

the special effects vary between very bad and terrible
Nikki is boring, Jessica better
but I like Mr Bennett (shock horror as a Crawford fan) and Sylar gets better and better
but it's Hiro, he's so squishy and cute and reacts properly, I have superpowers - that is so cool, now i must save the world
in series 2 atm he's in medieval japan fanboying over the hero he read about as a child - sooooo cute
I don't want to give anything away - it's not wonderful, it's not the best show ever, but if you're patient it becomes very good
you're better off not watching it and getting the box set

but...
have you ever seen A matter of life and death by Pressburger and Powell - there are scenes in it where time stops - it was done by making everyone stop what they were doing and hold the position
they used it again for X-men 2 when xavier froze the museum

and in nosferatu the bit where he comes to a stand without moving, was done with a plank and a pivot
according to the making of Indiana jones is a wonder of tinfoil and pipecleaners

me - i think the best special effects are the ones that aren't fancy computer trickery, but rather some clever bugger working out how to do it without the fancy budget.

I like your theory about Rikkai winning. Mostly because, well, I like Rikkai. But unless Konomi is going to release the series in another format, yeah, he doesn't have much left to do, so....
