LJ mystery

Some time ago I complained about not being able to see icon keywords when the cursor is hovering over the icon. Example of what I mean:

Instead of saying just "Pez [蘇.格蘭塚, YAY crusader]" in the yellow box, it should say "Pez [蘇.格蘭塚, YAY crusader]: Yanagi - Face", because I called my icon Yanagi- Face.

At first I thought it was layout specific, but guess what, today at work, I realised I can see icon keywords. It just doesn't work on the desktop or laptop at home.

Anyone got any idea why?

I think it really is whether it's S1 or S2 style. If I look at your layout and hover, I get the same result: the wording on your userinfo, but not the keywords. However, since I'm on S1, I can click on your comment link and add ?style=mine to the end of the web address. The result is that your comment page goes into the default for LJ, and I can then see your keywords.

But I don't change my layout at work. I still use firefox, login and read my flist as normal, like I do at home, but I can see icon keywords at work. >_>

Strange. But if you were using the same code as I do, if you're using S2, it would still give you the same result anyway... Maybe the easiest thing to do would be to ask someone on LJ. They must have come across this question before, what with how many users there are.

If you mean the userpic with which you used to post the entry, most S2 styles won't give you the keywords for that. Your particular S2 style will show the keywords for the comments in both alt/title form (allowing Firefox users to see them), but it doesn't and shouldn't show keywords for the icon used in the original post. It's not coded to do that.

Follow-up: (Code snippet for that section of the page.)

<div class="userpicfriends" style="background-color: #d4dce8;"><img src="http://userpic.livejournal.com/66041433/426486" width="100" height="100" alt="Pez [蘇.格蘭塚, YAY crusader]" title="Pez [蘇.格蘭塚, YAY crusader]"><br /><a href="http://yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com"><font color="#000000">yuki_scorpio</font></a></div>

If you're seeing icon keywords at work, then it must not be the original post icon? :\

Now that you've mentioned it... that seems to be the case! The weird thing is, even in comment page, if the default icon is used, even if the default icon has its own keyword, it wouldn't show. When I hover over the icon you just used, I only see the alt, but not title, but hovering over moffit's second comment (which doesn't use her default icon) gave both alt and title >___>""""

I kept moving my cursor so the 'this is you' box would go away.
