...Girl!Renji is rather an interesting thought. I can see her as being elegant and poised as opposed to pretty. I see her more as having a bob cut than long hair. Or if it's long, it's very, very straight.

Sanada Genichirou hated models.

His agent often smiled when he said that, and noted that it was an intriguing position for one to take when one paid the rent by posing in Calvin Klein underwear on giant billboards, but Sanada challenged anyone who'd spent any time in the waiting room of a modelling agency to think differently. The waiting rooms smelled like some weird cocktail of lip gloss and overpriced perfume, and if there was five minutes of silence between shrieks about the states of manicures and extensions and all the other crap girls seemed to pile on it was a miracle.

"I HAVE A HANGNAIL. A HANGNAIL."

If he'd only brought his katana, Sanada thought as he rubbed at his temples, blood could flow, heads could roll, and there could be a few blessed moments of silence.

"Sometimes," said a smooth, pleasantly low voice next to him, "I like to imagine a very specific nuclear explosion that only takes out brainless, narcissistic models. The world would be a much better place, don't you think?"

Sanada blinked and turned his head, his eyes skimming down and then up again, cataloging a foot of pin-straight, dense black hair, long legs, and perfectly even features made remarkable by the serene expression on the model's face. "I have a katana at home," he said after a long moment. "I like to imagine a nice rampage."

"It certainly has its merits," the girl replied before turning in her seat. "I'm Yanagi Renji. I do runway."

"Sanada Genichirou. I do underwear."

Yanagi's expression didn't change at all, but Sanada was pretty sure he caught a glint of amusement under her lowered lashes. "Ah, of course. I didn't recognize you with the hat."

"They won't let me wear it for the photoshoots," Sanada said in a dry tone. "I think it'd be a good look."

The soft snort was probably a laugh, he thought.
