Hopped around LJ a bit and found out (well, more like confirmed) that many of the PoT fans are actually Chinese. More compared to the ones I met in other fandoms. Hm.

I like reading Chinese entries, for some reason. But I hate writing them. Probably because I suck at typing it... and also I can't seem to write anything coherent in it anymore. Sigh. Can't seem to write it without being "Cantonesey", and although Cantonese is good for expressions sometimes, I do prefer proper written Chinese style. Really I do. I even like reading Taiwanese styles, but there is no way I can write like that.

Probably should pick up some Chinese novels to read to brush up on the language, but now all I can get my hands on are gossip magazines, which don't really help much. And I don't like the modern novels in the bookshops now... I find writers like 深雪 and 張小嫻 and the like so darn crap. 亦舒 is also sometimes full of senseless, unreasonable romantic shit (sorry). And then all the stuff like 芝See菇Bi... oh don't get me started.

When I go home I'll go pick up some good old 金庸, I believe, even though I have to spend quite long reading it, rather than with the (apparently preternatural) speed I use to read Chinese stuff.

...... Any recommendations on Chinese authors/novels?
