I don't mind sales posts that much when they're short and to the point and colourless. I do ALWAYS mind the line 'delete if not allowed', though, no matter what the post. Read the sodding rules!

In this particular case, she should have waited until she GOT an answer from a mod, since the rules clearly state that you have to ask first. Which to me implies you need a (positive) ANSWER, too, before posting a sales post. -_-;

I'm annoyed when the sale posts are long. Why not just cut or link or something? I'm scrolling past as soon as I see the username/title anyway *shrugs*

And mm, the specific day thing, wouldn't it be HELL every week/month that day? All concentrated. It's not very practical to unwatch the comm every time... =_=

I'd at least know which day of the month to avoid looking at my flist or view my flist under a non-comm filter, though. Rather than have account_sales posting to 5 comms on Monday and potsales posting again on Wednesday, and not knowing when they'll be posting so that I can avoid them.

I think it's either that or "you're careless", not too sure. Should be slacking.

Individual people trying to sell a few of their personal things I don't mind much (though I still think they should get mod permission and not have that delete if not allowed crap) Because it tends to not be that spammy.

I have complained several times in my lj about those three sales ljs that pop up. Some of them spam like every PoT community in existence too and often. They drive me nuts. I really wish the mods would do something about them.

Personally, I think once a month is still too much but better than what we have now. And I don't think all on one day would be good just because if you were selling personal things and you needed to get rid of them now but you just missed the day or you were away on that day it would be tough. Besides, I'd hate to think about how much ads I'd have to wade through on that one day and what I might miss doing so.

And if we're complaining about spam in the comms, I'm not a big fan of randomly pointless discussion posts. Especially when no context is provided >.> But that just might be me being really cranky this morning.

Yeah. I don't think I would mind so much if the person who posted would start off with their own discussion or thoughts. It seems a bit pointless to me to just have a picture.

Not to mention that the conversations for discussion tends to degrade quickly. And heaven forbid someone makes a joke or inserts their thoughts that don't gel with others.

At least the discuss posts don't happen all that often. *knocks on wood*

As teni_press executive editor (hahaha that sounds so hilarious :D), huge sale posts crossposted everywhere annoy me as much as fic posted everywhere, and I refuse to add it to the issues I do. Some of my editors do, and I'm not going to bitch about it, but I don't feel like advertising someone's effort to make money.

Like Crys said, if you're just trying to get rid of some stuff and need the money for it quickly or something, I don't mind. But if you're planning on having a 'store' so to speak, once a month, if that.

As for the 'if not allowed plz to be deleting', that annoys the shit out of me too. Though admittedly I am on a few comms that don't specifically state anywhere that sale posts aren't allowed/need mod approval, so I go ahead and post with the "Mod(s), I can't find anything in the rules against this, but if it is, let me know and I'll delete".

And really, if you consider that there's a 90% chance that anyone who's on any of the pairing/school comms is also on tenipuri or tenipuri_yaoi... It's really pointless to post in a billion and a half comms -________-

All of that annoys me, but the "please delete if not allowed" is the most annoying thing EVER. I'm always tempted to delete posts that say that just for the obvious disregard for whatever the comm rules may be.

Sales posts don't annoy me in and of themselves. In fact, I like them, because I find stuff I want, sometimes.

Sales posts every other day are excessive. Once a week, is really plenty. Even once every two weeks.

'Please delete if not allowed' is annoying, although sometimes I include a clause to say 'I read all the rules and did not see anything prohibiting this type of post, but if I missed something and this is not allowed, then I apologize'. But I rarely do it. >> 'Please delete if not allowed' implies you haven't bothered to read the rules.

If you're having to spam every other day to sell stuff, chances are that no one wants your crap. >>
