If so, should there be a "Higa Higa Dance"?

I have Higa outfit. Took a peek into the packet, it's very purple \(^0^)/ I'm dying to take it out to look at, but I'm at work........

It just occured to me that when people pay me back for myu things (everything should arrive soon) I'll have some money, which'll make a good start for the "new TV" fund. To be honest, it's not like I can't afford one, I just like to have at least a certain amount in my bank account.

Must... stop... checking... blogs......

Arghhhhh, I need to make phonecall again. I hate making phonecalls. ;_;

LJ's not working very well today. And here I was, about to expand my friends list by a little... maybe later.

GOING TO GET CHOCOLATE NOW BYE.

Higa Higa Higa Higa! *imaginary hip swing*

[edit] Tell me I shouldn't get this, even though when I get money back from friends I'll only need to add £150 on top for it. *looks up specs* shouldn't get shouldn't get... it's not the prettiest thing in the world but that size at that price...

I bought mid-sized Lindt gold bunny for £1.64. Now that's happy Easter. XD

[edit 2] *blows nose* *sees pinkish blood* ........wtf, I thought it stopped. I'm clearly allergic to work and should be given indefinite leave until work stops making me bleed in tiny, tiny amounts.

*skims Amazon* Oh, UK, you fail at life and televisions. Everything is only HD-ready!

Then again, things may broadcast differently there.

LCD will really look good as long as you aren't watching action movies and things that move exceptionally fast across the screen (the refresh rate of LCD will make them drag sometimes). The reviews on this TV seem good, though. ^_^ If something with a built in HD tuner isn't feasible, this seems a good bet.

Yeah that's the way it works here. So you need a HD-ready TV and a HD set top box (from whatever cable company you're with) to get channels in HD, as far as I understand. But I'm not too concerned about actual TV programmes, more watching DVDs and stuff, so that's fine with me, I just need a DVD player that can deal with it. :D

LCDs are good for up to around 32", I think, and plasma for anything larger. Considering the size of my flat, LCD is more than good enough. XD I'm just... working up how much money I'll need to cough up for the TV and DVD player (am using the PS2 to watch DVDs atm.... >_>) currently it looks like around £500...

Things will look good with an LCD, make no mistake. However, LCD are only 720p max (full HD is 1080p), but with the upconverting you can generally get that to about 1080i. ^_^

(Channels in HD look so good, the difference is night and day!!)

Poke around on the net, if it's like it is over here chances are the TV is made by another manufacturer and simply marketed under another name. The contrast ratio on this TV is only 1200:1, which is better than CRT but may not compare as well against some of the other LCDs. (There's an LG that's more, with the same contrast ratio. However, the Samsung that's 569 pounds, it is 5000:1. Just some food for thought. Personally, I don't think there's a thing wrong with stepping up and yet not taking the entire staircase at once. My LCD, which really looks great, is 1600:1. If you wanted to wait until your Great American Adventure II and check mine out, that would be fine. *giggles* Never let it be said I don't advocate spending money, I just advocate spending it wisely and well-informed. ^_~)

I would if I could afford it! XD

I'm looking at the 26" now, because the prices are more afforadable and really, my home is TINY... in my price range, there's a LG and a Philips that seems to fit the bill. For DVD I was looking at a Toshiba... which is only a nudge cheaper than the Sony you just linked to, so maybe the Sony... >D

Ah~~~~~ money money~~~ *looks for things to sell XD*

So would I, so would I. You went house-browsing with us, didn't you, so you know our tastes run to the expensive. XD

Both the LG and the Philips look good. My plasma is a Philips, which I love, but I've had a few Philips DVD players (my ones that play .avi) that the power sources have crapped out on. I've not owned an LG, but the reviews on that TV seem to be REALLY good. With a good DVD player, you're going to have quite the setup!

oh and, this Samsung, which has better specs but obviously costs more. The main advantage of the LG is it's cheap for its (not bad) specs...
