XD It's not something that has happened just now, it's more like over the last week or two!

Could it be that people are getting tired towards the end of the year, and are getting prickly and irritable?

Probably. It's probably another one of those "jump up and down and scream bloody murder and wave big fat sticks at nothing at all" period...

Or everyone's having their period at the same time...

Oh dear. X) Even though Nintendo is recalling the straps for the remotes, they really shouldn't be breaking if people are using them properly. All the videos of people smashing their TVs have them whirling around like a 5-year-old with ADD, and they're making the fatal error of letting go of the controller, which Nintendo warns about everywhere. They're making the straps more robust as a public goodwill gesture, but they really shouldn't have to. Oh, people. XD;

Exactly. I think people are just trying to make money out of it by making bogus claims. That comment the "woman from Beijing" made was obviously for fun, but seriously, I wouldn't be able to smash a TV screen even if I whacked it hard with my mobile phone.

LJ's format is a bit prone to collective PMSing. The flist circle kind of turns blogging into speaking (or bitching) to each other, when sometimes you just wanna talk to yourself. It makes it hard to define, in some posts, if you're being talked to or at, or if you're just watching something from the sideline. Also makes it easier to offend people because everything is going to offend someone, and you can compromise to avoid things you know are firestarters, but you also want freedom to use your journal as you wish.

I guess what I mean is, yes, there's a lot of bitching in LJ, but it's nothing you don't see even worst in non-LJ blogs (in comparison to some blogs I read, LJ people are a lot more careful about wording things better, sometimes to a fault) - except, for some reason (my personal guess is the flist format), bitching in LJ seems more personal than not. In a regular blog the tone sounds like "I hate you generic person out there", and in LJ the tone sounds like "I hate you who are reading this".

I don't know if that makes any sense? XD We can always assume it's December getting on people's nerves too (it sure is getting on mine, spending hours in endless lines for banks, markets, stores etc drives anyone nuts ~_~;).

I know what you mean. Hell, everyone knows I tend to just say what I think, be my views controversial or not, and friends eventually learn that they're better off leaving me alone when I say things like that because it's my journal!

The bitching, though... it seems to have increase everd since the beginning of this month. It is a busy time, so maybe it's life in general getting on people's nerves...

This isn't in reference to your post, but a few I've seen lately. XD Why do people bitch in their journals about people bitching in their journals about stupid pointless shit? If it's not LJ's new 'spiffy' feature, it's bitching about everyone bitching about some show or movie or lajdsfljdsf.

I dunno. The bitching about bitching annoys me more than just the bitching does XD

Which is why I haven't started bitching about people's bitching regarding the LJ thing (yet). A lot of those bitching is unfounded, even - they just haven't tested the new thing properly before feeling the need to go ROAR.

God yes. I think some people are just resistant to change, and fair enough, sometimes when LJ is changed overnight it feels a bit like someone came in and moved your furniture around without asking. But hardly the end of the world, and folks miss out on neat toys by taking their bats home.

If I may mix my metaphors. And it's Friday, so why not?

I have no idea if it's a December thing. But if you ever disagree with something I wrote (did you?), or anybody else really, you should discuss it with them, even if it's only on LJ. There was a HUGE blowout between Stefan and me last year because he disagreed with something I had written on my LJ, but didn't tell me about his opinion. It was basically a problem of me discussing pros and cons, and he wasn't on the filter that - by chance - held all of the pros, so he only ever saw me talking negatively about it. Seriously, after we finally did fight about it, it took mediation by Ina for us to actually start speaking again. Raising issues or disagreements when they happen is very important if you want to keep relationships/friendships alive. :)

It depends on the topic, really. There are quite a lot of things I just don't think is worth discussing or that because of the way I speak/write, people will think I'm jumping down their necks.
