Sometimes depends on which hand you used is stronger than the other. Or you could say the grip that you find comfortable for your hands... Like holding a tennis racket, if the grip is not comfortable you're not going to hit the ball properly or anything involves with twisting things open.
Actually I feel it's kinda different. With a tennis racket, it's about knowing how to use your muscles... learning to control and stuff, so it's usually more easily done with your writing hand, but not impossible with the non-writing one, just takes more practice.
But with twisting a bottle cap, it's the mechanics of making a hand rotate something in that particular direction. I find I can't do a bottle-cap twisting motion as good as my right hand can, even though I'm a lefty -_-
