I read that the heatwave was going to peak on Wednesday, but whoah, I had no idea it was going to be that bad. I'm so glad I live a little further up North. I have a feeling it'll still be around the 30 mark here, but I don't envy you at all. *throws ice cubes in your general direction*

Dude, ow. >.o London is always a few degrees hotter than where I am, so I have to say, you have my sympathies! Having just been exposed to 35-37 degrees for 10 days straight, I recommend ice cream on tap. :3

I'd rather be 30+ in Japan than here. They have air-con and drinks machines everywhere T____T (butbut, I'll be going on 4th Aug! Will get to see Kazuki 8DDD)

Ice-cream on tap *salivates*

Actually, the one thing that's great about Tokyo heat is that it's mostly humidity and not direct sunlight - I work better with heat exposure than sun exposure. So thinking about it, I'd rather be at 30+ in Tokyo than in London, particularly if the tube is involved. XD And yeah, the air-con is AMAZING in Japan. I lived for the air-con. *___* (I am not a fan of the heat. ;))

You're going in August? Wow, that's awesome! :D

Couldn't believe how hot it was tonight when I walked down to the hotel to meet my dinner party. I hear it's expected to pass the 40 degree mark in some parts of the country. Also, that some stations are now handing out bottled water to travellers so that they don't actually die/become ill during train delays etc.

In fact had interesting conversation with Bangladeshi taxi driver coming home just now about how the building industry needs to rethink the traditional focus on keeping heat inside houses.

And me, too. I know where I am going on Wednesday. 'Cause 37° would kill me without a pool nearby.

WE DON'T. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. WE DON'T EVEN HAVE AIR CON ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT. IMAGINE BEING ON A BUS OR UNDERGROUND AT PEAK HOUR.

AND THERE IS NO AIR-CON AT MY WORKPLACE NEITHER. Some large offices do, over here, BUT NOT WHERE I WORK.

not to be mean or anything but I'd be grateful if the temperature here DROPPED to those levels.

You don't know heat till you've been in the Caribbean in July : )

(No A/C at the office either, so I'm feeling you)
