pezI've never really roleplayed before.
*looks around* Damn, I think people heard me.

br_tenipuri, and I have no real idea what's going on, except everybody who plays has to get a new account for their character... but how does it work? Do people just like, post on those journals? Like, write the continuation of the story? Or do they have to agree with each other what's going to happen? They do things in turns? o_o What? Or do they all do something at the agreed time? (but doesn't that mean everybody has to be at their computers at the same time...)
I have absolutely no idea what goes on in RP, for all these years knowing people who RP like mad. I feel like a newbie in fandom. XD

Date: 2004-03-29 03:21 pm (UTC)From what I can gather in anime roleplays, you create a premise for the rpg to be created upon and start the story on that basis. In LJ rpg's you usually have a semi-valid reason why everyone has an LJ lol, and it goes from there.
Each player needs to make a different roleplay lj, simply because it would get damn confusing to constantly be posting from your own, when you are, in effect, playing someone else. You then proceed to keep that LJ as if you were in fact that character.
If you have interactions outside of that LJ, they usually, as far as I can tell, take place in AIM. These can then be transposed into fics which are then posted for the benefit of those who are tracking the rpg... kind of as a more solid view of how the world of that particular rpg is progressing.
Did I make sense?
I hope so...because I've been toying with the idea of setting up an rpg for the pure reason that I have this NEED to play Fuji lol... and he's always the first to go *pout*

Is it a bit like, kind of a round-robin fic, where each writer takes up one character... but I guess everyone has to write in turns, and everybody else has to check other people's journals to see what's going on... something like that? And they sometimes meet on AIM if major interaction takes place?

Each member of the rpg has the contact info of the other members... or at least access to it... so that they can hmmm say message each other and go... hey you want to let our characters do this? simply because you should never involve a character that is not your own in something without their knowledge... they may have other plans.
*nods* so you kind of take on a new persona... need to check the journals on a regular type basis, post regularly too... I think for most of them it's on at least a one post a week basis if not more. The mods usually come up with good idea's to keep the rpg nice and fresh too
So yeah...
Are you thinking of RPGing??? Or just trying to understand it a little better?

Date: 2004-03-29 03:45 pm (UTC)Looking at it, probably RP-ing is not really for me... it's hard to write anything without involving another character, and if that means having to meet up and chat about it, it's fun but sort of... cumbersome. (not even sure if that's the word I'm looking for ^^") It's fun to read what people write on their RPGs though =D

“I don’t know why I forgot. I couldn’t believe it when I went through my homework diary and…” Eiji’s voice trailed off when Fuji pushed the door open to reveal Tezuka, who was leaning against the wall next to the window, arms crossed and eyes focused on them as they walked through the door.
“Tezuka…” Eiji sounded a little surprised, and stopped in the doorway.
Fuji walked over to open the blinds, brushing lightly against the taller boy as he opened the blinds to let in the last rays of the days sun. He was only partially listening to what Eiji was saying now that the redhead had recovered his poise. The prodigy was too busy trying to figure far too much.
“Ahhh,” Eiji began talking again. “Fuji didn’t mention that you were here too!”
The red rays distracted Fuji, and before he could stop himself he found himself mumbling in response. “Hmm. Must have slipped my mind… how very careless of me.” He could feel the tension in Tezuka’s body through the light contact of their shirtsleeves, even before he finished speaking. Yet, Fuji couldn’t seem to stop himself.
Turning to face Eiji, Fuji let his hand softly brush Tezuka’s elbow in an attempt to stop the reaction he could feel brewing. The tension didn’t lessen but neither did Tezuka speak. Fuji smiled and spoke smoothly. “Tezuka offered to help us study.”
If either Eiji or Tezuka saw fit to call bullshit, considering that Fuji rarely needed help with school work of any sort, neither of them uttered it.

These two, if they're lover, they'd be really dangerous. Tezuka I always saw as a (secretly) jealous bastard, and Fuji... is dangerous in his own way, we all know it. Heheh.
