well there's Otakon, Project A-kon, Ikasucon, Big Apple Anime Fest and Anime Expo. personally, i'd suggest Otakon or Anime Expo as they're probably two of the biggest cons in North America. and if you feel like venturing up to Canada for a smaller con there's Northern Anime.
