Cake! And bling.
Jun. 20th, 2008 09:28 pmI tried baking gluten-free victorian sponge the other day, following a recipe that asks for corn flour. It turned out fine, the taste is good but the texture very... springy. I don't know if it's the egg whites or the corn flour that did it. It also has an egg white-y meringue-y layer on the top. It seems like the sort of texture that would be a good base for a gluten-free tiramisu instead. XD It'd soak up alcohol and coffee very well!
Liz has gone home today so I'm on my own, but I really wanted cake again so I baked again, this time a genoese sponge. Oh my GOD it's absolutely heavenly. I will probably eat all of this by myself within the weekend!
