I should've gone to look for walkthroughs before attempting to get the donkey. Wasted a whole hour and finally NOT got him to give a confession! Turned out there was a key event I didn't trigger. Found it now, on Japanese blogs. :/ I really need to buy the walkthrough.

On the other hand, it seems like clearing Sanadass and Yagyuu will lead to Sememura being unlocked, so I don't have to clear everyone in the game. Or so the blog says... >_>
