Nanowrimo talk #1

1) The goal is 50,000 words. I don't know why I kept thinking it's 100,000 words. But hey whatever.

2) I think I can actually make this word count - provided I have a story to write >_> which brings me to point 3.

3) I still don't have the plot. I only have bits and pieces, scenes that don't link together. I have a general theme, but it's so general I don't even know what genre the story should be. The theme can apply anywhere - fantasy, crime, romance...

4) Trying very, very hard not to steal ideas from things I've read, English or Chinese.

5) Starting is the most difficult thing.

Hamburg thingy people

1) So how many nights do we get to spend all together? 1? 2?

2) No matter how tasty/disgusting, take me to eat traditional Hamburg/German food once, okay?

3) So do we get to DDR? XD

4) .......you guys can't be planning to stay up all night, right? Please say that you'll let me sleep.

5) I have no idea what to do when I get there, so... tanomu yo! ;)

6) How the hell am I going to bring so many plushies? XD Le Nfu says that he misses Charlie *snickers* so he must go, and then Fuji and Tezuka say they must meet the other Fuji and Tezuka they once saw on the webcam... then fox!Tez and bear!Fuji want to go too and waaaaaah! Plushies-revolt! This is chaos!

7) Arith, is it Veggiemite or Marmite that you like? I can't be sure... I'm leaning more towards Veggiemite... can't remember now!

Please please please PLEASE rec me some novels

Don't mean to pot 3 messages in a row. Sorry. 8)

I haven't read a novel for AGES. The last thing I read... I think it was Lord of the Rings. Didn't finish it because it bored me. That was a year ago I think. I miss the days when I'd carry a book around with me everywhere I go.

Please reccomend me some books. I don't really like comedy/parody or crime fiction (read too much of it in school) so not from those categories but, anything else is good (okay, maybe not Danielle Steel. You know what I mean). I like loads of different kinds of stuff so don't worry about whether or not I'll like the theme. I read anything from "To Kill a Mocking Bird" to "Interview with the Vampire" to "Kane and Abel" to "The Poisonwood Bible" to "The Little Prince".

(but if you know of a novel that's truly beautiful, poetic and filled with imageries and hidden meanings, well I die for that kind of stuff)

Even if it isn't a novel... rec anyway. <--- has just ordered Stephen King's "On Writing", remembering Scribbles talking about it a while ago.

Just give me the title and I'll look it up on Amazon or go to Borders to read a couple of pages, so no need to provide summary ^^

[edit] Wah you guys read loads of "series" novels. Am going to avoid those for now coz addiction can be castatrophic XD Looks like I gotta give Neil Gaiman a go heh.

Am home. Didn't go to bookshop coz I had to carry a hi-vis jacket and 40 sheets of A1 drawings home, too heavy! Will go tomorrow instead. So all you Hamburg thingy bookworms, you have until tomorrow evening to make any book orders 8)
