do you love me? // or am i just another trip in this strange relationship? // you push and pull me // and i'm about to lose my mind // is this just a waste of time // keep acting like you own me // i keep running, watch me walking out that door // i hear you behind me

gimme that strange relationship // never felt pleasure and pain like this // something's so right but it feels so terribly wrong // i keep holding on // gimme that strange relationship // one of us gotta let go of this // i keep pushing and you keep holding on // i'm already gone

do you love me? // we break up and back together // And I swore to myself never // oh how you do me // you strip me of my honor // and I don't ever think I'm gonna // break free of these mind games // all I'm trying to do is modify my plan // 'cause I can't contain you

gimme that strange relationship (do you love me?) // never felt pleasure and pain like this // something's so right but it feels so terribly wrong (do you love me?) // i keep holding on // gimme that strange relationship (do you love me?) // one of us gotta let go of this // i keep pushing and you keep holding on (do you love me?) // i'm already gone

you keep acting like you own me // i can't control me // you said you never really wanted me back // well maybe if that's a fact may I suggest a brand new plan of attack // and in the fizzle that you're hard to crack // you're way off track // i want you back, i want you gone // maybe I'm sick of holding on

YS: *write write scribble scribble*

Schu: *leans over train seat and reads* There has to be more to life than writing Niou Yagyuu smut on the train.

Niou: *sharp glare* You've got problems with that?

Yagyuu: *pushes up glasses, which are shiny*

Schu: No, it's just... *reads more* right, fine, keep going guys.

Yagyuu: *arm-pump*

Niou: *arches eyebrow at Yagyuu* Tezuke is rubbing off on you.

Tez: What did you just call me?

Fuji: *laughs heartily*

Schu: *catches Fuji's mental image of Tez being uke* Oooh! You two should keep going too.

*the train sways about, everyone's heads knock on everyone's, and everyone pass out*

I think some people might be interested in knowing how the system works in the selection of teams to National tournament. Bad anime and bad translations have made people misunderstood the system.

There are 24 teams that can go to the Nationals. There are 10 regions in Japan, the places aren't allocated evenly but done according to the region's size. Small regions such as Kyushuu and Hokkaido gets to take 1 team each to the Nationals, whereas huge regions like Kantou has a couple of places. That would come to about 20 teams. The remaining 4 places are allocated to regions that had done well in the previous year, so Kantou may get 2 additional places. (in the manga, Tokyo-to, part of Kantou, was given 1 place and that place went to Hyoutei)

Which teams can take these places? That's also judged by previous performance of the teams, rather than just giving it to the 5th and 6th places. For example, what if Seigaku met Rikkai in the first round and beat them... Rikkai may still get a chance to go to the Nationals since they had good previous performance. But it's not something they can rely on. This somewhat ensures that the stronger teams will still go ahead, rather than the weaker teams who got to 5th or 6th by luck of draw. Kind of like seeding I suppose.

Is this a good system? Don't ask me, and I don't want to debate it. It is what it is. The fact is that Hyoutei going forward to the Nationals is not a technical problem and no rules are bent. Tezuka's arm? I think he did it more to teach Echizen, Fuji, and the team something, since obviously they have learned a lot from that match (Fuji in particular, re: Genius 220). The win was needed so that they could move forward, so that they could get to top four to secure their place in the Nationals.

Mangakas are artists, they're not animators, they don't compromise and change things just for profit - or that's what I learned from reading the afternotes in my mangas and reading magazines. Konomi has planned this all along, it would be a terrible waste to throw Hyoutei, one of the most well-characterised teams, away.

And really, if you ask me, I imagine Tezuka would be pleased that Hyoutei will be in the Nationals.

Comment if you want, but no debate about if Hyoutei going to the Nationals is wrong. No point in debating.

In other news: open mouth, insert foot. I just reread my last post and think it might have sounded a bit... Dimmie~~~~ I only meant to explain the system to friends who didn't know it, don't mean to upset you (if it did). Please don't be angry with me...
