All from one and one from all...?
Feb. 13th, 2004 11:27 amHahaha....
Was just thinking, how similar the ideas are, my old original fiction (half a book written, but never made it to your screens) and FMA. But then again, considering the basics: big national organisation -> strict disciplines -> enter a young person (with major talents) -> all hell breaks loose. That is sooo typical that even as I type now, I can think of several more examples of anime/manga/novels/films just like that.
Depends on how one does it, I guess. It's like there are a gazillion works out there about boys going to schools to learn magic and stuff, but HP is (perhaps) one of the most successful of them all. *shrugs* Similar ideas can end up as totally different things...

Infernal Affairs
Feb. 13th, 2004 02:07 pmInfernal Affairs to be shown in British cinemas.
Hollywood to remake Infernal Affairs???
Right, so I liked that film a lot - Everyone in HK really worshipped the film, but for me, Tony Leung is who really did it for me, and I really loved the camera-work. That's all. Still, it's a fairly good film (although I wonder how much of the HK culture can the Brits understand), it's worth a watch.
