Con report later. Kitacon III summary:

• Food from the "food court" was piss poor and horribly overpriced. Hotel restaurant (Millers) was 5000x better and not much more expensive



• Very limited number of double beds, and we didn't get one. Probably because it's an airport hotel



• Pool + jacuzzi + sauna = :D



• Dealer's table wasn't too boring. Instead of going to find people, they come to find me! But hope next time they'll know not to let dealers block the air conditioning vents...



• Panels. Some good, some bad. Makes me want to run my own



• Made some money



• Met new people, had fun, learned some interesting things



• "Oh tits!" "Okay ngl I just wanna marry Alucard." "You're very attractive you know?" "Bish, I love bish." "I thought you'd be the girl!" "I thought herpes was hepatitis."

Spent 6 hours in a car yesterday and I got a bit of conflu on top of that so I'm quite miserable atm. I did go to town to mail stuff and buy food. Other than that it's mostly staying in bed with the laptop, looking up stuff and buying things for Coscraft, restocking and getting stationery etc. Still looking for a place that wholesales Pros-aide. Thought I found a place, rang them up and they said they don't do it anymore. =/

It was great to see you! some day I'll meet you at a con when I have a brain and remember the things I wanted to say to you other than 'wow, you look gorgeous' - although you DID look gorgeous, you and Storme both.

I didn't think it mattered when I arrived as I knew I had a double from the moment I booked, it was on my email confirmation. I didn't ask for it or anything.

I have a vague suspicion it's because we were two girls asking for a double bed. Storme said the woman looked at us funny. In fact, the woman initially said "well I could get you a double bed for the first night and then you'll have to move to twin after", to which Storme said "okay", and the woman looked at us as if to say "you really want to do that? Filthy lesbians" and then said to us "I'll have to ask my manager", and later returned to say it can't be done.

What's the point of making the offer if that's the reaction if we took it up?

Surely hotels are used to people sharing that aren't strictly malexfemale? =/ Seems a bit odd (and un-professional) for them to come across in that manner. I would of made a complaint but I guess it's hard to complain because of a "look" rather than her actually commenting negatively about your preferred sleeping arrangements.

They should be, but it's always down to the individual employee to follow the rules. Anyway, like you said, it's hard to say whether or not it was discrimination.

Actually, she stared at me when I said 'okay' and said 'Seriously? You really want a double that much?' and I said 'Yes, thank you' and she gave me the look of vague disgust and horror and said 'Wow, okay, well, I'll have to ask my manager' etc.

Which is why I was quite so annoyed.
