My mortgage advisor sent me an email:

[...]details of your partner who will be living in the property with you which is a standard question that is always asked when an occupier who is not party to the mortgage will be living in the property. Therefore could you kindly provide me with the following:

- Full name of your partner
- Your relationship with them i.e. boyfriend/husband
- Whether they are financially dependant on you.
- Date of birth

So I wrote back to give him Storme's details.

I think I heard, across the internet connection, a double-take. *amused*

..........OH. Have I mentioned that I've found the flat I want to buy, and given that the mortgage goes through all right, I'll be moving in December? \:D/

One of the consultants at work did a fabulous doubletake when he asked who I was talking (to someone else) about and I said "my girlfriend."

But the best part was when the guy I was talking to dryly said "Better jump in the pool to cool off from that mental image, Daniel."

Ah, yeah, I was hanging out with my best friend a while back, and we were getting groceries and bickering like an old married couple, and she went 'If I didn't know we were both heterosexual, I'd think we were gay'. And, of course, she's the only person in my RL who knows I'm bi. :P. Eh well.

Hopefully, this guy will learn from you and be more inclusive next time :).
