Re: work - there might be good news. Not just "not bad" news, but actually good news. O_o It's all a bit of a rollercoaster at the moment, but after the last dreary meeting, we've found out that we've won a really big bid. I am not 100% sure what that means for me personally - have a few ideas which are as yet unconfirmed - but anyway, it has to be good for Highways as a division.

Star Ocean - what the HELL is it with the Faize/Lymle suggestions? That girl must be, oh, 6 years old?!!? NO. JUST NO.

[Siege/Surrender] chapter 4 here.

The BNP got two seats in the elections. I'm really worried about this. Regardless whether two seats is enough for them to have any influence at all, the fact that enough people voted for them so that they got two seats - that is seriously worrying. We are talking about these people. Voters, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

[edit] Star Ocean - have to speak without spoilers here, but wow, this whole bit about Klaus's planet is sooooo boring and cliched. What's with those really long cut scenes? "Shit! Everything is going to blow up! Let's run - but before that, let's chat for about an hour. 8D" orz The whole thing also broke my impression of Edge as a smart guy. I have to re-evalute his IQ, or the lack of it, rather.

Yech, what a disgusting bunch of crazies! DX How the bloody hell did they get seats on the Parliament?! We have nutters like that, too, but they're never anywhere near getting enough votes for anything, neither locally nor nationally. Ew!

I keep my fingers crossed for your work stuff! ♥

I don't know. Politics in this country is a mess right now, but that just doesn't mean BNP should get any votes at all. They're pro-corporal punishment in school. They're pro conscription. They're anti-semetic. They're basically extremist in every way and also say that the white English people are left out because of positive discrimination by current legislation. Basically, yes, what you said - a bunch of crazies. They should have no place in national or European parliament! WTF.

The BNP actually got *fewer* votes than at the last election, if that's a comfort. It's just that Labour's nosedive was so spectacular that a lower number of votes was enough.

I'm still pretty angry about it, though.

The thing about the BNP is, I read several articles that suggested a lot of normal people were so disillusioned with politics in the wake of the MPs expenses business that even if they would usually have voted, they weren't going to. But the people who do feel strongly about these things - that is, a certain portion of nutters - did vote. -_- When you look at the bare numbers, not a lot of people voted for them, in terms of the population, but still. The crazies are always the loudest, because no-one speaks up for the normal people in the street, because most people *are* the normal people in the sreet - it's only the people who don't see people who agree with them every day who feel the need to make their views known. Loudly.

Argh. Perhaps I shouldn't complain because I didn't go to vote (was too knackered on Friday to go to polling station), but still. This is just not good.

I though Lymle was 15 but mentally stuck at 6... It's also been a couple of months since I've picked up the the game and thus read the character profile so I could be remembering incorrectly.

Either way, it was (and is) still in the land of squick for more than several reasons.

*googles* OMG, so she is. She certainly doesn't look or behave like 15. Maybe that's the way Lemurisian is... though I bet the gamemakers just made it that way for the loli lovers. orz

Yeah. So they did get less votes than last year but still won seats because of percentages and such, but the fact that they got enough votes to have that percentage... that's still scary.
