pezWatched Sony's presentation at E3. Nothing that strikes my fancy very much apart from the kart racing because track creation looked fun. I'd spend all day making tracks and then never race on them. SHEEEEEEP.
Watching recording of Microsoft's presentation. Beatles Rock Band. Okay. But WTF were they thinking, getting Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono and Ringo Star on stage? O_o Tony Hawk explaining the tech in the skate board game? Dude, srsly. I'd rather hear from the game makers themselves. Their FF13 presentation > Sony's though. Everybody's seen the trailer now, but actual game play? Sony didn't show any whereas Xbox did.
Lots of shooters and war games and games with huge amounts of gore. Not interested.
FF14 is online. LOL. Do they mean another MMORPG? Or is it something else? Who knows? It's on PS3 only, not PC, so the format... hmm...
One does wonder if SE has decided to go back to Sony's bosom because they have pissed off too many fans (fucked up xbox ventures, ah...) or if Sony is paying them more to come back to suck them.
Sometimes I wonder. If they took The Last Remnant, added a few flying machines in it, and a few big yellow-feathered birds, and called it a FF game, what would the sale figures and reviews be? I bet it'd be different. Sure, flying machines and chocobos don't define a FF game, but what IS an FF game, really? According to SE, they don't have to use Chocobos, don't have to put in mini games, don't even have to use characters like Cid and Watts. They just slot them in if they see that those elements fit, but it's not in any "FF guideline". Take Lost Odyssey, for example. It's made by the same team of people behind Final Fantasy, it's got raving reviews, but it doesn't have the FF name and therefore not the FF sales. Hn.
