I'm writing a fic and there's this bit where two characters have a long conversation. One of the characters is just an OC, a plot device.

I turned around and said to Liz, "WTH, I'm writing this randomly long convo between two characters, and one of them is of no interest to anyone."

But now thinking about it, it's of interest to me, and damn it, that's all I really need. Too bad if nobody else finds it interesting.

It's definitely the same general principle. Of course Tezmobile is probably a bit easier to catch. Some of them plots are cunning little buggers. Only I suppose in this case no buggery is involved. 8)

That's how I write. If it's interesting to me (or amuses me, or whatever), then all is good and I'll right it, damn what other people thing. OC's can be fun sometimes, if used appropriately.
