Opinions on the fics
Favourite: [Fine], because Renji's voice was exactly how I wanted it and it was a combination of that unassuming voice and the simple plot that proved you don't need anything fancy to make a good story. And yes I'm saying my own story is a good story. :P I was worried when I first posted it, but am glad that I did.
The Best: [Love Story], hands down. It's my first OshiGaku and probably will remain my only OshiGaku, but it really /worked/. The plot, the characterisation, the pace, I think it all worked together really well and heck, Gakuto turned out exactly like I thought he would, somewhere between grown up and never growing up. He wasn't whiney, he and Oshitari didn't mate like rabbits - they didn't even get to mate at all, for that matter - AND he fought for himself. He was /real/.
Most underappreciated by the universe: I could say it's [Misled] because it was an exchange story and the recipient never replied, but I don't like that story enough to care. I think [Birds of Paradise] deserves a better response. But probably very few care about Renji from that universe.
Most fun to write: [Song of the Bamboo Forest] was huge fun. Some research had gone into it, but to call it research almost makes it sound like I went all nerdy and plucked books off shelves and highlighted paragraphs and made notes - it wasn't like that. I sat down with books and read and found it fun. The story itself was fun to write. Sanada got laid, he wasn't abused, and even though he wasn't a "hero" in the story, he sort of was.
But of course, [Megane Rangers] as a series is the most amazing thing EVAR and writing it is always full of lolz. And this is where I focus the Sanadabuse.
Sexiest: That AU backstory.
"Holy crap, that's wrong even for you": That AU backstory. Once I toldgiving_ground what I had in mind, she said, covering her mouth in horror: "oh my GOD, that is /so wrong/, but... so right!" It really is very wrong, that's all I can say.
Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: That wasn't one. But I explored Higa for the first time in [Affirmation] and [Frivolous], and that was pretty cool.
Hardest to do: [Circle] - it's entirely to do with timing rather than the fic itself. I was at a very low point with my writing when I posted it. Nothing seemed to be helping, everything I wrote felt crap, and a lot hung on this story's reception. Luckily I got a lot of encouraging words.
Biggest disappointment: [A Dance with the Chrysanthemum] didn't turn out like anything I wanted. It didn't turn out /bad/, just not what I wanted.
Biggest surprise: [Ten Years] - people like it a lot better than I do myself. I did love how characters turned out, but the story as a whole has pacing problems. Or maybe it's just me...
Most telling: [Fine]. But I'm not going to tell you why. :P

Overall
- Everything turned out to be Prince of Tennis. I don't have a problem with that. I just write what I want to write and don't feel obliged to write for any particular fandom.
- There were a few short ficlets in July, mostly because I wrote nothing post-able in June. But overall, stories are getting longer. In the past, the average story or chapter length was probably 2500 words (I guess). Now there are a few 7000+ fics. I no longer split a story into chapters just because of length, which is definitely a step in the right direction.
- I made less SPaG-related mistakes than I did in 2006; I've become more careful, but there is still "lots more to work on".
- 2007 was more productive than 2006. The word count doubled.
- I played in different genres. Fluff was featured often, but so was outright crack and some heavy stuff. I also tried new characters.
- I finished a lot of things I started before 2007! But there are still unfinished stories hanging around. =/
- THERE HAD ONLY BEEN ONE CHARACTER DEATH IN 2007!
Plan for 2008
- Write at least 100k again.
- Finish all the stories from before 2007, and continue or finish all the ones started in 2007.
- Keep trying different genres.
- Kill some characters. Maybe. XD

It's unfortunate that I can't elaborate much about why I love your writing, an it really would be tiring to repeat it over and over. But here we go again: You're ambitious and you give your characters certain edge, also you have particular perceptions of them and you want to write about it. It doesn't matter how *wrong* it would be, in your universe it always make sense. And what a way to write, just breathtaking, and your plotting skills... just damn.
I agree with you about "Fine". About everything, even for the things you didn't said.
My favorites: "Love story", I believe the OshiGaku love has diminished lately, this fic shows why love the pair.
I really liked "Song of the Bamboo forest" and "A dance with the Chrysanthemum", this Yakuza AU is brilliant and so interesting.
"Ten years" was amazing in the sense of the character's building and the feelings between them.
I can't wait for what will happen in "Lullaby", whatever way it's taking.
About "Birds of Paradise" I can tell that maybe you don't have much response because "The city" is overwhelming, serious business.
I dare say that I find it scary emotionally, as it is an epic read. I don't think I can handle it, because I know that once I begin, I won't stop reading. I didn't have the time to give the proper read it deserves.
For the snippets I had, you write things for a reason, and I see that Renji has become a preoccupation as a character, what I find great.
So let's hope you reach your writing purposes on 2008 and thank you so much for lettings us read it!
