I feel bad about complaining over something as seemingly insignificant as a chair, but how am I suppose to sit and work if I'm not sitting comfortably?

Considering your iffy back, and how important a proper chair is for that sort of thing, I think you're entitled to complain. And loudly at that!

Some n00b who just joined yesterday had the nerve to complain about her chair and someone had the nerve to give her mine, which has no arm rests (got them taken off) and so I can sit right up against the desk and rest my arms properly, at right angles to the desk, and sit properly.

Srsly, the normal chairs are fine for everyone else. What sort of person complains about her chair on the first day at work? And what sort of person takes someone else's chair without leaving a note?

I fanged the people and they just gave me my chair back and arranged another arm rest-less chair for the n00b. Which is what they should've done in the first place!
