My Blueberry Nights
May. 16th, 2007 05:33 pmAm I the only one who has mixed feelings about My Blueberry Nights?
I'm looking forward to it very much, yet I'm so, so worried it'll be shit. It's going to be in English and set in America and it has big names like Jude Law. I'm also worried that it'll be treated as a regular Hollywood film because it has big names. Although it's opening Cannes and I bet at least half of my flist know what Wong Kar Wai is all about, 50% here does not translate to 50% of the general film-going population in America. I'm worried it'll end up like Days of Being Wild, which was completely and utterly trashed when it was released and only loved years later.
BBC is trying to say it's called My Butterfly Nights. It'd be funny to see Norah Jones eat butterlies, wouldn't it.
[edit] I miss the days when PoT bromides were actually well drawn and didn't feature characters with wonky faces or bad body proportions.
