The sexiest Kansai-jin in town

Some opinions required.

At one point in the story I'm writing Oshitari's accent is sort of discussed. How should I represent his Kansai accent? Add some nas and nyas at the end of his sentences (which is partly how he does speak) (but I risk him sounding like Eiji?), write it "me thinks I'm going to..." and "I is blah blah", things like that? Or just not bother at all?

I usually prefer to see Oshitari written without showing how different his accent is. Same with Eiji. ^_^

Haha you should! I don't think it'd be embarrassing or anything, cos most people probably wouldn't even realise it was cosplay. Actually, it might be good if some people noticed - it could be a way of meeting new PoT fans in London. XP

Representing accents in prose is something I usually think only linguists are able to pull off without sounding corny. Especially when it's "translated" dialogue. So stick with what you know and write about it naturally, it'll work out. ^_^

I just mention without specifically writing it how his accent sounds- basically, a slow drawl, and often girly to Tokyo-speakers. ;; Doing in the 'he said (whateverly)' fashion is usually better then trying to write it out? >.>

I think you could do without the accent, in my opinion, since it's difficult to portray his accent, and not sound slightly unnatural and a little strange. :/ But really, it's up to you. :D

XD!! I wouldn't mind doing a Seigaku cosplay with Superlover with you - aside from the fact that I have no Seigaku jacket. And :O!! At PoT and w-inds. cross over! XD (And I am getting such bad bad images, since the only live I have of w-inds. performing Superlover is in their concert, and they were wearing furry, sequincy, sparkly red super ghei! outfits, and dancing dorkily. XD)

Hello~ sinistera sent me over here to you. =/ I'm a sorta-kansai-speaker here and. . . I agree with everyone else. X_x The grammar for kansai dialect is slightly different and it really won't match with English in my opinion. -hen, -nanya, -kunai, -shimotte are some common endings, but vocab itself is very different too and it might get confusing. ^^;

If anything, maybe write with a southern (?) accent in English? Since kansai region is south of the kantou region (where Tokyo is). . . or some slang will work as well. If you have any questions regarding the accent, I'm willing to help. Good luck. ^^
