Do I want to hurt those people? YES.

Which is better, Wordpress or Blogger, for a blog that will be integrated into a website, and has occasional posts with just text and photos?

Played Chapter 11 of Resonance of Fate yesterday. What the................... XD;

I've been trying to avoid the news, but then my dad decided he needed to make sure I know about the Manila hostage tragedy by sending me an email with an image of the dead gunman hanging out from the tour bus. orz I guess my family has no idea how angry and upset I am about that whole thing already. And then Sheep sent me links where HK media, as reposted on on forums, has found the Filipino people and their police standing in front of the tour bus and taking pictures, smiling like they were taking holiday snaps. I kid you not. I don't doubt that lots of local people there feel terrible about the whole thing, but the actions of a few can be JUST. SO. INFURIATING.

GRRRRR. I need to find things to do to take my mind off this. Work, maybe, if I can find the people to help me with the work!

Wordpress a million times over.

My site (which has no actual content yet) is built entirely on Wordpress - http://www.lowellkm.com

And you can also integrate it into an existing site, ofc, it doesn't have to run the whole site.

It's very appropriate for many 'smh' moments.

Definitely Wordpress. I used it for years before deciding to come back to LJ. It's also a whole lot more customisable than Blogger is.

Hmmm, okay. Thanks :)

My guess would also be wordpress, even though I am ignorant of its features.

Also wtf.

That seems to be the more popular response so far. A friend said Blogger is easier to integrate into website, but Wordpress has better features...

Yeah. Apparently 8 people having died under such harrowing circumstances and many others injured, watched LIVE by their friends and families on TV, makes the location a great place for happy snaps!

I use wordpress on my own site (just click the user name!) and totally swear by it. Installation, updating and backup is very easy, literally takes minutes if you have a good broadband connection. As mentioned above, you can use it either to run the whole site or just have a blog within its own directory - the latter requires you to create a database in cpanel. The most difficult part I've encountered is working out what my user and db names are, for the config file.

I've experimented a bit over the years but these days I just run the fic blog with a separate splash page which has my OpenID coding in the header. There are lots of adfree layouts available but I donated a small sum to Sadish Bala for mine, mainly out of courtesy because I've used it for so long. Some of the "base" layouts (Kubrick, K2) are very customisable.

If it's really easy then I'm not worried! I'm not too fussed about customising it as long as it looks neat.
