Important question: what colour are Dave's earrings? Sometimes they seem blue/turquoise, other times they seem clear. O_o

Decent hotel in Clapham/Wandsworth area? Almost none. Any I do find, they don't take three people. In general it's hard to find places that do triple rooms. I've extended my search to Chelsea, Fulham/Earls Court and Kensington/Knightsbridge. (Also, sometimes there are special offers on amazing hotels but it's only available as double, not even twin. =/) I guess people generally don't travel in groups of three? Sigh. But whatever I find it won't be nearly as cheap as the Cardiff one.

VGL tickets via Ticketmaster: okay, I understand about the fee per ticket thing, that's how TM makes money. But to add £3 on top as "delivery charges" even when I chose e-ticket option? That's just out of order. But that's still the "cheapest" option and I don't want to lose things in the post. Sigh.

For VGL, in retrospect maybe I should have booked Park Inn because that's literally right across the road and if I really wanted to cosplay that's more convenient (although Radisson Blu is hardly another minutes' walk. XD) Anyway, now that there is a place to leave my stuff and get changed (and leave stuff with the following day until it's time to go home), I could cosplay if I really want to. I've got the hardest part of ballroom!Dave made anyway. the rest is just buying ready made stuff, so I've got plenty of time to prepare. Dave with Gae Bolg will be worn at October Expo, so maybe someone else? .................TONBERRY (stabbity stab)? MARIO (oooh, moustache)? A SAVE POINT (I'd be mobbed by FF cosplayers. XD)???? or make a spinny glowy crystal thing to wear on my head, wear sim-esque clothes, make speech-bubble cards and say I'm from Sims 3? I don't suppose anyone's got suggestions?

Hmm. I shall ponder on this. Not sure if I should or not. But guess I can still make whatever costume I might or might not end up taking, because making stuff is \o/. Realistically I can start on Zidane now and wear it there, since I need it early next year anyway...

Every time I type \o/ I can't help but imagine Rush throwing his hands in the air and shouting ACE! It's that bloody TLR/Heroes crossover's fault. I can almost see the word ACE! in tiny little letters above the head.

Work meeting again at 11. Fortunately I've delegated most of the work (!) so I'm only there to check the progress.

Don't the hotels offer the possibility of adding an extra bed to the room? That's how I arranged it in Kyoto, when Sarah, Liz and I shared a room.

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
They should, but not the ones I've looked at so far. It's kind of odd. Then again, it might be because I've been looking at the more strange and fascinating ones. >>

Maybe the strange ones can provide an extra pile of pillows for one to sleep on/in? :D

*is amused by the save point idea*

Clearly you need to *write* this TLR/Heroes crossover. :P

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm a little afraid of the crowds I might draw if I did that!

That requires me having watching Heroes beyond season one (and that I only watched in bits and pieces!)
storme: (use my powers for good)

[personal profile] storme 2009-09-22 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
But crowds of pretty FF cosplayers! This cannot be a *bad* thing, surely?

Ah. I watched enough of season two to suggest that you're better off not watching Heroes beyond season one, really.

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
You have such faith! Those cosplayers might not be pretty!
storme: (rinoa heart ff8)

[personal profile] storme 2009-09-22 11:45 am (UTC)(link)
That's true. I was somewhat spoiled by PAX.

I can *hope* for pretty FF cosplayers! Especially since they'd be gathering around *you* and not me.

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
How about you make an FF cosplay and I'll be your personal save point? :D

[personal profile] storme 2009-09-22 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I already need to get one costume done by that week, and I think that will be occupying enough of my attention that I'm not going to volunteer to make another. :P

*runs away before Pez makes sad faces again*

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*sad faces anyway* DDDDDD:

*wibbles and wobbles, too*

*flees, shields eyes*

One costume by then is enough! Especially since I haven't actually even started *making* it yet!

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Start! Who knows, you might finish it earlier than you think!

I have to wait for the patterns I ordered to turn up first, really (stupid mail strikes). And I need to buy fabric. :P About all I *can* do is start poking at the talisman, at this point. (and even then, I'm waiting for the glowy bits to turn up, come to think of it.)

But, still two months away! Maybe pattern will show up soon and you might find time to make another one and... *eternally hopeful 8D*

You are waaay more of an optimist than I am. ;)

:D/

Stormeeeee why are there so few triple rooms in hotels? Do people not have threesomes?
storme: (glasses)

[personal profile] storme 2009-09-22 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I don't know. Maybe people just book double or king-size rooms for those?

(Actually maybe we'd be better off looking for family rooms or something? Or maybe we need to get a twin and a single instead. :/ )

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
........true. I suppose for threesomes they only need one big bed.

(So far, choices are Wyndham Grand @ £200 for a triple room, just across the river, Dorset Square, king size room for £183. Although that's near Regent's Park. XD But it's very pretty! And there's Brewer's Inn in Wandsworth at £140, though I think it's literally adding a bed and the room might end up a little crowded.

There are other places that would accommodate three too, obviously, such as the local Jurys Inn for about £80 iirc. So those options are always there. And yes there's getting twin + single.)
storme: (the last remnant)

[personal profile] storme 2009-09-22 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
The first picture I looked at for the Brewer's Inn had a teddy bear RIGHT UP IN THE CAMERA. I made a squeaking sound I don't think I can replicate adequately. :)

The prettiest of those is I think the Dorset Square, yeah. But taxi to Regent's Park is 'spensive enough that it'll probably end up cheaper to stay at the Wyndham Grand.

I don't know! I am bad at decision-making for things like this. Which does your inner Dave favour?

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Was that a "ewww, bear" response or "awwww, bear" response?

My inner Dave prefers the Dorset Square style, definitely. *pets him* There are other places like those but the ones I've found so far are "no no no absolutely no more than 2 adults in one room and definitely no children eitherrrr". Except for Millers at Notting Hill, to which I actually sent an enquiry (because LOOK, SO PRETTY) and they said:

Thank you for your enquiry. All our rooms are doubles however two of them Coleridge £195 +vat per night and Wordsworth £230 +vat per night are both able to be made into twins. It really depends on your ages, we can put a rollaway bed in the room for a £25 surcharge, but we recommend it for children rather than adults. Another possibility is to book one of the rooms as a twin and a second small double such as the Blake £150 +vat. The room costs include continental breakfast and a complimentary bar in the evening in our candlelit drawing room.

o-kay, so you'll be in cosplay, and I'll be coming straight from the office in my work clothes...let's hope I don't have any particularly important suit wearing meetings that day!

(Fortunately my coworkers are quite used to the occasional presence of Keigo and LPAtobe, and play hide the LPAtobe in team meetings. I have a video somewhere of him being interviewed about his career aspirations.)

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I might be, but not sure yet!

(I'll bring a smaller Tez with me. 8D)
