Heat wave, peadophiles and wanking

I have a love-hate relationship with this weather XD

The thing about this heat wave is, though, some people in other countries don't understand why we make such a big thing out of it. So, let me try to explain:

- London (and the rest of the country) is not used to this temperature. This place is famous for miserable weather. Look at your typical Briton and you'll see skin so pale that the person glows like a halogen lamp. Because of this, the British is obsessed with the sun. They have so little heat awareness. They may know about taking bottles of water with them, but sun screen? Staying out of the sun at midday? PAH. Not gonna happen. PUT SUN SCREEN ON? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING. I WANNA GET A TAN! (*headdesk*)

- This city is far away from the sea.

- Also, because we aren't used to this temperature, a lot of the things we use are not designed for this temperature:
-- windows on buses open only part way. In fact, you can hardly call them "open".
-- buildings are designed to keep heat IN, not out. Double-glazing, loft insulation... there is heat insulation everywhere.
-- the Tube (London's underground system), being some 100+ years old, is operating beyond its max capacity. Ventilation down there is laughable and during peak hours... don't even try to imagine.
-- air conditioning is installed in some work places and shops, but it can't be called wide-spread. There is certainly none on public transport. (how we are going to cope with 2012 Olympics, I have no idea)
-- even some of the road building material we use cannot withstand this sort of temperatures. In Metro today there was a picture showing people's shoes sticking to road surfaces in Plymouth. And, as a traffic engineer, I assure you this truly can happen.

See why people are going nuts now? I sort of like this weather, going out in a skirt makes it rather nice. But I still prefer cold than hot. I can wear lots of layers when cold, but I can't strip my skin when it's hot. On top of that, I like my coats and scarves and gloves and hats XD

I read yesterday somewhere that a political party, with only 3 members, want to take part in the election in Holland. These party members are convicted child molesters and their aim was to lower consensual sex age limit to 12. >_>

Channel 4 is to screen footage from Britain's first 'marathon masturbation' event.

Shoes sticking to the pavement? That sucks.

And we have the same type buses over here. No airconditioning and the teeniesst lil windows ever that let practically no air in. And I'm pretty sure we have more days of super hot and evil here. Clearly engineers and people who buy the buses aren't the ones forced to ride on them for a half hour or more in all types of weather.

Also, eww to that political party.

...Wow. Your city really isn't built for heat. OwO

That political party. Ugh. DX

We probably gave you guys the heat. D: Ah well, we're getting it back later this week. *hurls at the weather*

It must have smelled like an armpit. TT____TT Why is there a 'love' in this relationship?

I just read the same piece of news today, and it made my skin crawl. What's worse, the article said that some Dutch court of law had apparently decided that there are no legal grounds to prohibit the founding of such a party.

The news I read described something like that too. While I seriously doubt, even if this party could be founded, that they'd get enough votes to do anything... I shiver at the thought of people advertising how it's right to have sex with young kids, as part of their propaganda -_-

hahaha Wankathon XDDDDDDDDDDD

fkds;af that's sick about the political party. e_____e

where's the heat wave coming from? o_o on the other hand, my city isn't really built for cold. XD

I do admit to a certain genetic tendency to go "SUN! MUST - MAKE - MOST OF IT!!" Because you never quite know when it's going to go away... ^^' I do try to be careful, though, as my delicate bits do burn quite easily! And I can't just lie in the sun - it's nice for walking in, though - you get nice breezes in the Peaks! I remember the roads melting when I was a kid, but I've not seen it in Sheffield - yet... I guess the only thing we can do it start getting used to it, though, what with global warming and all. -_-

Supposedly, it's 50 degrees celcius on the Tube. I am boggling. @_@

Yeah, it's funny to think that although all the Brits on my flist are suffering with the heat, it mightn't make sense to people from other countries. I think all I can say is that on the news today, they said that Britain was hotter than Benidorm, Athens and Cairo. When we're hotter than Egypt, that's a problem. ^^;
