[livejournal.com profile] chinawolf, maybe this will be of interest - Stephen Fry was the focus of BBC Two's "Who do you think you are?" last night. (which I missed :( if you happen to download it or see a torrent, please let me know?)

Ordinary guy from Belsize Park has had Chris Martin (Coldplay foreman) visiting his home, been invited to No.10 by Cherie Blair, shaken hands with Jonathan Ross, Sir Tim Rice and Sir Ian McKellen. Because he is Greeting the 500 in a bid to raise money for RNIB.

Yeah, there's quite a bit of buzz about it in the Fry fandom. I have to wait with the download (at uknova) since my stats are not high enough for an instant download. I'll burn it for you and you get it with the birthday mail, okay? ^_^ (Anything else you need/want?)

About the shorts/skirts in school issue: I sort of understand the schools. When I first got the dress rules for my American school, I almost decided that this was not the school for me. But then, I saw what the students would dress like on no-dresscode-days, including *all* boys running around in boxer-like shorts and flimsy t-shirts, and suddenly got the no t-shirts/shorts policy. Maybe the school mentioned in the article should have made the concession of allowing certain kinds of shorts, instead of becoming what I am sure is the laughing stock of the state. XD

OOOOH ♥ yes please!!!

re: shorts, there's that, but I think your experience of the "no-dresscode-days" is exactly because it's what it is - one of those rare days when you can wear anything. This leads to people being over the top/outragious with what they wear, just to get the most of the day XDDDD;;;;
