Why are the ZukaFuji fics these days so horrific? Is it because I've stopped writing for that pair? But honestly... everything I click on ends up burning my eyes. And with every ZukaFuji exchange, the overall quality of the work goes down by another notch. It's so sad. They used to be my favourite pair. You know, there's badly-written fic with potential (I happily read them and I write them myself), and then there's BAD fic. The thing is, those writers seem to be so self-consumed (is this the word I'm looking for?) and they ego-stroke each other so hard they never actually realise how crap they really are. Sure, writing (fanfics) is about what the writer enjoys the most, primarily, but how much do you really enjoy it if you don't seem to be seeking to improve? I read work from some time ago and ones from recently and they still all look the same. So how much do they love writing, really? Do they love writing, or do they love the "popularity" it gives them?
No, I'm not going to tell them they suck and what they need to improve on because it seems to me they never read anything that's not on a screen.
On a very loosely-related note, if a fic rec says anything along the lines of "this fic deserves a lot more comments/love than it's getting", then I wouldn't read it. Reccing something should not involve describing the Tragedy! Injustice! Unfairness! that something has suffered. Just tell me why you enjoyed it and why you think I'd enjoy it. More than that and it's guilttripping and hard-selling and it's the quickest way to make someone feel turned off.
No, I'm not nice today. Tomorrow I'm going to Altrincham. 9 hours roundtrip for a 1-2 hours meeting I shouldn't even be going to. This is my happy face.

And there's no way they can write that tripe and 'love writing'. They're trying to reel in other fantards to flail with and that's about it. :|

It's not even fun to flail anymore because flailing with morons isn't fun in the slightest.

Ugh, no kidding. So many of the people I liked fanflailing with have moved onto to fandoms that I'm not interested in.

Yeah. Most of my favourite writers are gone and I'm not too keen on the ones that were left behind. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's characterization thing. I can't stand how they write my babies. Not in the least. Not how they do the gay for only you cliche or how everyone cries or how Fuji is some freaking pussy. *stops ranting or she'll never stop*

Ahaha, it's not mean at all - it's just the truth. :D It took me a while to develop an affinity for Tezuka/Fuji, mainly because so few people take the time to write them well. Same for Golden Pair (which I love) - you either get Eiji-the-wonder-uke or Oishi-the-wife-beater.
Uh huh. I'm only gay for you. Blah.
