Is it normal that someone forgets/mistakes their own age?

[edit: don't want to start another entry... can someone really tell me if the theory that left-handed people have statistically shorter lives (and more prone to heart problems) is true or not?]

Last night when I was in bed, thinking about random things and waiting for sleep to come... I thought of something.

I'm not 21.

I'm 22!!!!!!!

o_o I completely forgot I'm 22. I can't believe it. I remember my birthday, I remember eating 2 b-day dinners in February, but I still kept thinking I'm 21 years old!!! Is it because my inner-child is still a teenager?!

I can't believe I'm 22 already. And I've got friends who are barely 15/16. *L* Goes to show I'm a teenager too, really.

Hungry. Lunch!

I guess this is the good time to introduce myself. I hope you don't you mind me adding to my friendlist? For being looking like 16 year old, being 19 is old for myself... Everyone is a child once in their life time and still is - it's a good thing? It doesn't matter how long your life is as long as you enjoy it! Your fanfics are awesome, please do continue them!

Hi there! Another Crawford fan, eh? My LJ is free for flisting ^^ Will work more on fanfics soon!

It just felt scary suddenly realising I'm not the age I thought I am...

i won't worry about statistics, i am studying alot of it, there is always bias in teh problems, as it is famously quoted, fundamentally there are 3 kinds of lies in the world
lies, damn lies, and statistics (forgot who it was who quoted this)

The name Benjamin Disraeli, the British politician, comes to mind, although I know next to nothing about him.

Just want to know anyway, even if it's statistics. (damn, catley comes to mind...)

I was like, you know, looking for more a straight-forward yes/no answer *L* Almost couldn't login to that page too, (almost) forgot my Athens pwd.

[identity profile] vicky-guu-sama.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)

(so happen i am at college, so i didn't care about athens bwahaha)

Ding...

I can imagine lefties getting injured more easily (in general), but as for death... there's something about the heart being more to the left side of the chest, and moving the left arm actually puts a very small strain on the heart. Accumulate that over the entire life apparently means even if dying just of old age, lefties die earlier... APPARENTLY.

Wish some medical person would tell me if it's true. Made me so curious.

come to your senses dude,
the test must not be significant, if it is, then WHO would give out warnings , so that they encourage right handers....

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
KAakkakakaaka point taken.

Although we must remember that hand dryers, tissues, smoked food, and lots of other stuff cause cancer, and WHO is there, arms across its chest, laughing and saying nothing.

[identity profile] vicky-guu-sama.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
but another point: WHO realises that ppl are generally too fat on EARTH, so they decided they want an International Dieting day.

However, guess who objected (and therefore made it infinitely posponed?) the Yankies

They should just outlaw fastfoods bwahahahahahaha

Try this: go to Ask Jeeves (ask.com) and type in "Statistics on left-handers shorter life" and then have fun following the links!

And don't worry... Sometimes I have to check what YEAR we are to be sure of my age... of course I'm nearly TWICE yours ^_^

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I did ^^" And read a lot of links that say such and such report says they have shorter lives, and other links says such and such report proves that the theory is wrong @_@"""" Got all confused!

Hehehe, we're both young at heart, so no problem~!

[identity profile] mirichan.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I think statistics can be read any way one wants to...

And yeah... I'm a mental baby of 40 ^_^

[identity profile] lina-lau.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
1 in 6 statistics are not true - or so they say. XD Though as to whether left handed peeps are more likely to have shorter lives and such, I have no idea... ^^;

Hehe, forgetting your age isn't that bad... I had to stop and think myself during my French aural when I was asked what age I was... had to stop myself from saying I was 15. ^^; Lol.

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
1 in 6 statistics are not true

Now *that's* another statistic XDDDD

So it isn't only me who forget my own age. I feel slightly more reassured (although it can also mean I hang around with people as crazy as I am =P)

[identity profile] lina-lau.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, that's the irony of that statistic! XDDD *is greatly amused*

Hehe, crazy is good~~! Who wants to be normal, ne? ^.~

[identity profile] quatorze.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, I began to get a bit fuzzy about my age as soon as I'd reached the legal age for everything. After that, it just didn't matter any more, not really...

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2004-03-29 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* Quite true. As long as I'm legal... XD
