Subject line of this post has nothing to do with its actual contents *is shot*
A big bunch of random things, numbered for ease of reading.
1. The other day Sis, Sai and I talked about "what we would've studied if we chose a different course at uni". I think I would've done materials eng or chem eng instead... or even economics.
2. Thanks for the replies on the Kansai thing, by the way. I've been writing Yuushi as I did with my previous Hyotei fic, ie without accent, but I was just unsure because his accent was a point of discussion in this story... and due to the way I'm writing it, I can't go "blah blah blah" he drawled, or anything like that... will see what I mean when I finish.
3. Been catching up with Anipuri whilst on the train. There are a few bits really worth screencapping, so if I remember to do it tonight...
4. Randomly, I have recently discovered I have a thing for natural stones - as in, if I see a building's facade done using stone, or see a public area that has a stone flooring, I go WOW *_* <3 <3 <3!!! (side note: granite kerbs look so much better than concrete kerbs, man) (don't worry Dave, I still think bridges are sexy. Cable-stayed bridges are nicer than suspension ones though =P)
5. ...I want to eat seafood. Gonna go to Ran tomorrow to have some Korean food though. Still good. *nod*
And about work:
6. Seems like the pub thing is still on tonight, and I really don't have an excuse to not go. ~_~ I think I'll just go to the dinner, go to one bar and then go home.
7. Yanno, it's funny how I've been saying that my wrists don't complain much anymore, but as soon as I start working heavily at work comp again, they start to feel a bit... *sigh* I've got a nice chair, a nice desk, and a nice mouse at work. And I've made sure all the heights are good. So I don't know why it's still like this, nobody else is having problems... is it because I have very very small, un-fleshy wrists?
8. A bit of snow and the country grinds to a halt. Gotta wonder how the other countries cope - what do you mean, you can't lay the blacktop coz it's too cold? (well I do know what you mean, it's not gonna go in properly and might crack) So what do the colder countries do? Only do roadworks in the summer? If they snow all year, they never use the trains? o_o This is ridiculous, man.
9. "Deer collision", to me, can only mean "deer collide with deer", not "vehicle collide with deer". A "2-way cycle path" sounds like a "2-way psychopath", although how a psychopath can be "2-way", I'm not sure...

There's a t-shirt I saw once that sums up what we do with roads perfectly: "Canada has two seasons: winter and roadwork". You can't go anywhere in warm weather without encountering at least one stretch of construction. Makes going to the family reunion an adventure - new detours every time! Get stuck in traffic for hours and run out of batteries in your headphones simultaneously! Fun all around!
And now that I've rambled and abused exclamation marks, I'm shutting up and going to bed XD;;

in terms of cold-countries, i wonder too, i mean, finland is really really cold, but i have an impression that they are pretty efficient with most things. maybe it is because most people hibernate in winter or they fly to spain so roads don't need much work.
in terms of 9, i had a similar with my recent seminar, a cousemate was doing a presentation on Ireland and competition, and talk about their "catch-up effect", mixed with some dutch accent, all i can think of is ketchup the whole lecture.
