Dear world, please read this

Pez's brief guide to not making a fool of yourself and not being as asshole in public

1. On the Underground, let people in need of a seat have a seat.

2. When it is crowded on the Underground, do not lean on the pole. Let other people hold on to it for balance.

3. When there are already people holding on to the pole, do not friggin' lean on it / hug it / do anything else with it other than hold on to it.

4. Please do not eat smelly food on the train.

5. If you know you are not going to make it to the train, do not throw yourself at the door anyway so that it cannot close properly, and then force the driver to open the doors to let you in. It is dangerous, may damage the doors, screws up the timing for all the trains, and delays thousands of passengers on all the trains.

6. When you reach the top/bottom of the escalator, do not stop to look left and right (no cars will run you over, honey) and then decide which way you want to go. Just MOVE, so that people behind you can actually safely arrive on the floor.

7. If you have missed the bus by a little, or if the bus has stopped because of traffic or traffic lights, do not pound on the door demanding to get in and then hurl abuse at the driver when he doesn't let you. There are reasons the driver will not let you on. He is under guidelines which tell him not to. Opening the doors when the bus is away from a stop may also screw up the SCOOT system.

hahah i had a fun experience on "3"

once on a not so crowded train, there is me and another 2 strangers holding the pole, then a woman walked into the train, and i think coz of people walking out we did some shifting and at one point, all 3 of us released the pole, that woman held the pole at that cahnce and embraced her whole body around the pole (literally, went into a WTF chance), the 3 of us had nothing to say...

does the SCOOT system also tell night bus driver not to stop at a stop, and look deliberately away from you while it flies pass a bustop? at that point am I allowed to shout abuse at him?

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2005-01-09 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
Naw, that's completely different. But still, I wouldn't shout abuse at them, since they wouldn't be able to hear you anyway and you'll just be wasting your breath!

I totally agree with all the rules... added with one more.. Please let the passenger disembark and dont blocked their way out!!

Almost everyday I had to suffer with these uncivilized people who would rush in before I could go out or they will just block the entrance and push me back inside.. which usually nowadays.. I get so angry that I had to practically pushed them away for me to get out of the bus or train. *sigh*

oooh... pretty Fuji icon.. love pretty Fuji icon^^

I finally had my Tezuka CD ^___^ and they send it in a quite a nice box with hmm.. I dont know what it call but they gave a picture of Tezuka and it can be hang on the wall.. sort like photo frame but not.. more like a signboard *scratch head*

Hehe, luckily enough I live in a city where people mostly do let people get off being they get in. (doesn't happen in Hong Kong though, gets me so frustrated when I go home)

Lina made me that icon! =D

Oh is it the first press gift? If it is, it's one of those things that you hang at a temple for your wishes. XD

As a matter of curiosity, do London folks thank the bus driver when they disembark?

[identity profile] yuki-scorpio.livejournal.com 2005-01-09 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
From what I see, probably 1 in 20 do... I do sometimes, depending on the driver...

[identity profile] vicky-guu-sama.livejournal.com 2005-01-09 11:35 am (UTC)(link)
to respond your curiosity, only under two circumstances:

1) when an old lady doesn't know her way and ask the driver where she has to get off, and then the bus driver tells her when its her time to get off, then usually the old lady says thanks.

2) when the bus stops at a stop and opens the door for entrance and forgets to open the door to disembark people, then people shout frantically at the driver to open the door, when the door eventually opens, people say "gee, thank you" in a sacarstic manner.

Which kind of indicates I'm not much of a Londoner at all XD

Don't run after a bus who moved away from the embarkment.

A few years back a woman ran after such a bus... in winter... She fell. The bus passed on her body, killing her instantly.

...guess she did manage to catch the bus then... or rather, the bus caught her O_O""""

[identity profile] mirichan.livejournal.com 2005-01-09 02:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah... there is a reason why it's so friggin dangerous running after the bus... 1- it's not supposed to stop... 2- I-C-E...

That was my bus route too... I was just lucky I was not IN that bus when it happened.
