(no subject)

Am editing CVs. Have to narrow them all down to one page each to suit the bid's length limit.

And whilst editing, I see this:

"...visited Netherlands to appraise [company name]'s sister company's PMS and followed that with assisting in a full UKPMS compatibility assessment culminating in UKPMS registration..."

CAN I DIE? XD (PMS = pavement management system, apparently)

(btw, when people have 30+ years experience and qualifications longer than the full name of the UK, narrowing them down to one page is not easy)

smaller fonts, wider margins XD

no la, fixed format since the rest of the bid submission is like that. I just need to pick out relevant experiences to the bid out of what, 30 years worth of experience listed...

Am probably being dim here, but weren't the candidates themselves asked to provide the information in a form which would fit within the bid limit? If they were, and they haven't done it, I'd mark them down right off (no good having 30 yrs experience if you can't read/follow simple instructions).

oh it isn't that. Our company is bidding for a project with some county council, and in the bid's appendix we're giving the CVs of the key staff who we propose will work on the project. But because there's a page limit (and we don't want to bore them with pages and pages of CV anyway) we have to narrow down the CVs. ^^" For the sake of time and consistency of style, instead of asking those people to do it, I'm doing it for all of them ^^""""

And as someone who receives such tenders I always appreciate the effort people make to condense things properly!
