So, yeah. Okay, so ballroom!Dave might have white EVERYTHING (tailcoat, shirt, cravat, waistcoat, trousers, shoes, armwarmers) plus black thingys up his right arm and coloured lining for his coat. And a gold chain or two on the coat. And Valeria Heart on his back (not sure what colour yet though.)

Of course, white everything doesn't have to mean plain white. I think his waistcoat can have patterns, if I can find a decent one.

The internet is trying to tell me that for shoes, men's sizing is the same as women's, so their size 6 is the same as a women's 6. Is that true? I'm supposing men's shoes might be made wider, but overall, are the sizes the same? O_o Uhhhh suppose I should go to a shoe shop and try things out.

Dave sounds like he's going to be pretty dazzling. Can you get size 6 men's shoes easily?

Meanwhile, Rush is likely to go the other direction: darkening the jacket to black with silver patterns etc (if I thought I'd have time, I'd be thinking about embroidering the patterns, but silver thread is evil to work with), and black trousers/boots. I *think* I'm keeping the rest pretty much the same as his standard outfit.

Although I sort of have this urge to do something to the white undershirt thing that would allow me to wear cufflinks, so I could get tiny flag!cufflinks. :)

I've found a place that sells them, but it's online so there's no trying-on... I'm between size 5 and 6 depending on brand and shoe type. Also these days shoes seem to be getting bigger? O_O For the same brand of shoes, I used to wear 6 and now I might have to wear 5... >_>"""" but the smallest I can find is 6 anyway, so I might just have to get them and then put stuff in them (soles? My English is suddenly failing me) to make them fit.

Yeah, I've noticed shoes getting bigger - I used to take a 5, now it's sometimes a 4. Inner soles will probably help, and you can get leather-pad-patch-things for the back of the heel which might also help, maybe. And thick socks. :P

I've found several places that will put photos/pictures inside cufflinks - I just have to get a good image of that flag, grumble grumble.

(Oh, I looked in the guide; it's not Athlum's flag, or any of the cities. Maybe it's the Sykes flag or something.)

Yep, and comfortable enough to dance in! I have usable boots already, but I think I need to get new inner soles for them anyway (my heels seem to eat through shoe interiors).

Maybe Dave's the one who had all the pictures of Rush's rear removed from google image search? So he could keep them all for himself preserve Rush's good reputation.

(That would explain a lot, really. Rush probably shouldn't be trusted to avoid trouble on his own.)

I was wondering about that too! Not sure how easy it'll be to make anything that looks much like it, though, having spent a while actually looking at the damned thing. Gonna poke around costume shops here tomorrow, see if I get any ideas for it that might be useful.

Been thinking about it... the actual glowy light part can probably be sorted out by adapting a LED light toy, something like these things. The transparent casing... will probably be a case of looking around the home and seeing if anything fits. XD;

Hmm. I do have some large perfume vials that might work (though the ones which are closest to the right size are, uh, full. Mmm, fragrant talisman). It's the metal parts at the top and bottom which are the issue. Hm hm hm.

The stuff I've got works fine. ^^ I've been using it on the Gae Bolg and have used it previously on other cosplays! If not, this thing is made out of industrial putty and then painted, which actually might be easier to handle than glue for a small item.

Mmm, sizing between men's and women's really depends on the brand, but here men's sizes tend to be about a size down from women's sizes (so a men's 8 is about a women's 9). But yes, men's shoes tend to be wider, but they do make wide women's (...which I have to buy but are hard to find so I buy men's!).

Sometimes brands will make slightly bigger or smaller sizes due to the mold.

But sizes are universal. My mother had a show store for most of my early childhood.
