PostPet

There's an iGoogle app that lets me post to LJ. Awesome. Also found one that'd let me read Gmail at work rather than just see a preview of new messages!

So... who here knows what PostPet is and who's got one? I had one years and years ago, when PostPet first came out, but it was a free trial. I'm thinking it might be kind of fun to have another one... but of course there's no point in having one unless your friends have one as well. So. Anybody? I do wonder how to get one now, though. Do I need to buy the software? It's around 2000yen... I don't suppose anyone's got a "free" version..........?

Ehhhh I was like. 11? And they only accepted 'official' emails. Which I didn't have. It was under my parents' names, whut. So I went and applied for one. XDDD Which meant, to the best of my recollection, applying for a whole new internet subscription. From a different subscriber that we already had [ah, days of dial-up].

...what makes me saddest about the whole thing is that the email address I picked was SO LOUSY. XDDD

I WAS YOUNG AND STUPID. XDDD In the end there was no money lost so my parents chalked it up to... being young and stupid.

And then I never got to use my Postpets account. =[

Only found PostPet v2.1 so far and it's ancient and ugly. Trying to get v3... no luck atm. :(

It's an email programme, but instead of the usual boring interface, your screen is a room where your pet lives in. You can interact with it, feed it etc. And if you use the programme to send email to your friends who also has PostPet, the pet will leave your screen and "deliver" the mail to your friend, so that say, if you emailed me, your pet will appear on my screen and hang around for a while. Your pet will get the play with mine. XD And the pet will write a "diary" to tell you what happened during her journey and her visit to my place.
