I hadn't followed Britain's Got Talent because I thought it was all very cheesy, but this morning's BBC Breakfast mentioned the winner and how his opera singing wow-ed the nation, so I clicked on YouTube and watched his audition show...

Not that things on TV are really believeable these days (have they ever been?), but if this guy really was just Mr.Smith working at Carphone Warehouse... OMFG?

[edit] Bought ticket to Darren Hayes at Royal Albert Hall. It'll be all standing. D: But I hope it'll be good.

The best part of that video is the completely flummoxed look on Simon Cowell's face, because you could tell that both he and Piers thought it was going to be crap. \:D/

Technically he'd have been Mister Jones, being from Wales & all, where there is of course a Fine Singing Tradition.
Two of the people in my team sing in choirs (one used to sing for the BBC).
